Jobs and Universities
Right now I'm so frikkin pissed I'd rather write a novel full of cursing and swearing -.-'
Basically I wonder if I'm the only one that has stuff like this happening or not...
So the question is...
Those of you that go to Universities, AND have jobs... how in the goddamn hell do you cope with your exams and your work? Cause I have two jobs. I've been working part time for over six months in this Marketing-tourist-programming agency that is the biggest agency in Croatia. I'm working as a graphics designer and a web programmer. And I'm working from home, but still I have deadlines when some projects should be done.
Also, thanks to my oh-so-frikkin-wonderful mother, I was forced to working in this restaurant. And now that the tourist season has begun here at the beach where I live... my boss keeps calling me to help out. I'm a chief waitress there but since I have exams this week, I got permission from both my bosses (one is taking care of the staff and the other deals with finances) to have a week off till my exams are done. And EVERY single day I get a call from at least one of them telling me they need help. So finally, today I got a call and I told my boss that I have exams and I want to rest today before tomorrow's exam -.-'
So the * said: FINE! And the line went dead. So, feeling like an ass that's about to lose a job, I have to LEAVE the books aside and go to work -.-'
I so hope this wont affect my tomorrow's exam.
Anyone with problems such as this or maybe different? -.-' I really need to talk about this before I commit GENOCIDE at work -.-'

Yikes! I'm taking a year out teaching in China before uni, but I know it will be hard to find a balance. I don't envy you Kai.

Looks tough Makai, but yeah, I guess itīs very hard to keep up with both work and uni, you always have to be available to your bosses and get a good degree on your exams. Almost impossible >.>
Myself I work part-time, so it isnīt too hard, but my exams arenīt going well either... Iīm on the other side of the street here XD
What do I say here... I think uniīs more important, but itīs tough not having your own funds

Bottom line, nothing should ever stop you from furthering your education.
and if you are good at what you do, taking a week off isnt going to make or break them. and they probably wouldnt fire you if they end up calling you so much. clearly they dont have anyone to fill in so your job seems to be rather secure.

Well there were some serious chaos issues at work today... I work with an empty-headed muscle-machine, a two-faced woman-hater and my boss who is a chauvinistic ass hole. Now all this time I worked for them... not ONCE did I complain about anything. I get orders, I keep my mouth shut and I work... and I don't give a rat's F*CK that my colleagues are talking crap about me ( before I was hired there, the two-faced lying woman-hater wanted to "pick me up" even though he had three girlfriends by that time... I told him I'd rather f*ck an old mule with herpes so he started talking crap on me). And today when I realized my boss is making difference between male and female. I told them what I think about them... and I quit...
all of my life I've been fair, hard-working, honest and nice to people I work with and people around me. People keep saying: if you're nice and helpful towards people, God will repay you. well I say F*CK THAT SH*T! God's to busy playing monopoly right now!

yeah working while at uni was really tough for me at one point.
in my first year of uni my days wre full of classes i needed to attend, in the evening i was workin and at the weekend i was doing my officer training through the TA. i was getting so run down with the lack of rest i got that i had to choose what to stop in order to make the time i needed to get bak on track. so i dropped the officer training, it was alright pay for what i was getting to do, but it was the most demanding of all.
in the ned you need to think whats best, and education should always come first, so its good to hear u dropped one of your jobs, but your bosses need to accept your education comes firt and that they have to give u the time if u request it for study.
