Is FF10 just a prelude to FF7
Considering the fact that final fantasy X whole world revovles compleatly around the spheres that are capable of increasing the strenght of anyone using them and final fantasy 7 calls upon the strenght of materia could materia be just be spheres of the past?
Or also take into fact that of the company Shrin-ra. In Final Fantasy 7 this company is stealing energy from the planet as an energy source. In Final Fantasy X-2 Y,R,P(Yuna, Rikku and Paine) travelled as part of the gullwings which included Brother, Buddy, and wiz kid Al Bhed Shinra where in Chapter 4 / 5 he discovered about all the potential energy within the farplane and said that this could be used as an energy source.
Sound famliar?
Could it be true?

Shinra's name was a nod to FF7, but other than that, there is no corrolation between the two.

No offense to it all, it sounds not too likely to me, but if anything, FFX would come after FFVII, since all technology would have been wiped ouot by Yu Yevon and Sin. After all, it's been 1000 years since Machina was used without fear, right? I'm sure that none of FF VII's charcters are immortal. Sphere's could be the same as Mako, but after a thousand years of unkeeping, neglet, and fear, maybe materia "evolved" so to speak.

i think the only reason this is so (the small conection between the games) is bc most of the team that did ff7 worked on ff10. it might have just randomly happened as opposed to being planned out.

This is a distinct possibility. It'd be pretty cool, too. Have you ever noticed the resemblance (small, but there) between Tidus and Cloud. Tidus could be Cloud's great-grandparent or something! Tifa and Yuna is a kinda resemblance, though. Zell and Wakka look similar, too!
