Since they're made by the same company, it's likely that each game has similarities. I'd consider this a sort of "style." Sort of like how an artist has a particular drawing style, or a writer writing similarly themed books. You can't say that all of the Final Fantasy games are the same place just because they all have crystals/spheres, chocobos, Moogles, and magic. It's just one of those things.
Fun to think about, though.
