I need some advice guys!
Hi there!
This past friday Kingdom Hearts 2 was released. I brought it and have played it pretty much already (20 hours...)
But yesterday evening the game suddenly froze and I shut the PS2 down.
It has happened to me before, but onyl very rarely.
The most confusing part, though, is the fact that when I started playing the game today, the game freezed at the same fight in the game
Now, it's a pretty hectical battle, and my Ps2 is about four years old. So I'm fearing now, that it's not the game-disc, but my PS2 that the problem.
Can you give me some advice? What experiences do you have with freezing games and such?

my experience is that if the game freezes at the same point its the games problem.
this can also happen if you are using gameshark or something similar.
if there are no visible scratches or smudges on the disc i recommend getting some of that air in a can and trying to clean your ps2 a lil. sometimes the fan stops working and it overheats.
any number of problems could be to blame. good luck.
also, chances are your ps2 is now out of warrenty but it would be wise not to open it and thus void your contract. i had a friend who called up to get a "disc read error" problem taken care of even though he was well out of warrenty and they still did it, all he had to do was pay shipping.

As dumb as it sounds I know this works:
Try tilting your PS2 at very awkward angles and leaning it up against things upside down or flipped around and the like, that's how I've fixed two.

I guess blowing into the bottom of the disc won't work these days...lol. Does the disc have any scratches?
Um, It might be overheating, I don't know to be honest. Try putting an external fan on it maybe. Or ask thorlord.

sence ur playstation 2 is so old it might be the disc....if i recall correctly the original ps2 had problems reading discs, that were newer games, or had a diff color bottom, it happend to my first ps2...all i did was flip it upside down to play untill i passed the part, then flipped it right side up again.....like fithosol said...it does sound stupid...and it might seem retarded but for some reason it actully works lmao...me and my bro are like. electrical masterminds lmao...we once fixed a ps2 that he ran over [dont ask...long story] with a butter knife, a screwdriver and an airconditioner

Both of you, I doesn't sounds stupid at all
You see, last evening I but it into vertical-stance (it has always been horizontal-stance), because I read in a magazine it could help... And it trully did! I got through the fight with out the game freezed or such. So I'm one happy man now, and thank you all for replying!

Ive had these problems before and my way of getting round it was to clean the internal disc components...like someone mentioned earlier try using the air in the can and make sure you can get it thoroughly cleaned, i imagine if its 4 years old the fan may be getting a little rusty and dust build up is probably higher...but if your disc is in good condition and there are no flaws on it then it must be your machine, or a very very rare glitch in your disc...which is hugely unlikely! Hope it helped!

I had this same problem with a PS1 game. The disk didn't seem to have anything wrong with it, so i took it back and got a different copy of the same game, and it worked. I think it's probably the disk has an error on it.
