Yeah he is pretty good, especially when you're almost dead and then he just uses Zanmato, handy.

zantmato can accually be used on any enemy inthe the game even bosses(lower chance if boss fight ) its really complecated and very mathmatical

the wide range of the random addition (0-64) means that zanmato is rarely ensured. With a max compatibility yojimbo with full overdrive, it can be ensured with 16 gil against a regular fiend.
On a sidenote, if you did it on say Yunalesca on her first form, it will not completely kill her, just send her onto next form.

Hehe. You cannot say how much he wants. It depends on how much he like you and what is the level of the fiend/boss.
e.g Dark aeons are level 6 or 5 i think and you need 6-10 mil to make him do zanmato.

i was just gonna write the above.it depends on his relationship with you.he knows how much gil you have and if you keep giving him a meagre amount he wont like you too much.when he is fed up of you he gives a little wave showing he thinks his payment is pathetic and send diaogre to do his dirty work.

i tried out the theory of how much gil you must pay and although i stick to my last post that amount does seem to increase the chances of zanamoto.maybe by alot.it is still your relationship with him though

not quite, one of his moves (Kozuka I think) reduces compatibility by 1. Daigoro has no effect, Wakisashi (sp) is +2 and Zanmato is +4 I think.
