Whoa hang on a second  They say that the game gets good about 5 hours in, and I have been playing for nearly 8 hours now and now that I have a whole team who is learning a bunch of cool spells the game is getting pretty interesting They should have started out the game with this intensity. The game is still not as good as the others imo but it is playable now.

lol. yeah im about the same length in. the battles can get a lil crazy if you let them get out of hand.
ps, remedy does not cure doom unless you get the license for it. i found this out the hard way.

Come on!
the game is great. It surely is different than the other games in the series... but... the gambit system! The story!
I'm used to the battle system because I bought the Japanese Version of the game (before the english one) and I was able to play a little....
It's great, I luv it =)

well, ive played the demo on this game an i liked the combat system, however i do see where fun is coming from, a system of that sort could get very boring very quikly.
on the note of the gaming industry decaying, it's true games are starting to get worse and worse, but makeing a "brand new" game that doesn't have any consepts from other games is a heck of a lot harder than it sounds, it's like telling a person to tear down a card house then build a bigger one with the same cards, thats kinda hard to do, and if you think about it we are now asking them to tear down that one they finnally made and make an even bigger one with the same cards...
sorry if that simily sounded a lil off topic lmao

Wow, I am 18 hours in and I am surprised that they waited this long to really show off what this game has to offer. The graphics really look good and right now I am in the desert and I didn't know the PS2 was capable of such a high draw distance without fog. It looks like you can see objects 10 miles away with real time graphics and not just a still frame background wallpaper like most games do.

You have a PS3? lol
anyway that's good news. In terms of story and gameplay I thought the best part of FFX, in particular, was about 30 hours in. But the CG at the start was amazing too.

See I would prefer it if the PS3 was just called the "Playstation". Seriously. Cars do it. For example there's been 30 odd Ford Falcons in Australia etc for over 40 years. Maybe they think people will think it is more 'next gen' if it has a higher number than the older model, lol.
I guess there is also a possibility people may be confused by newer games, wondering if it might work on their older playstation. And the 2, 3 etc makes it simpler. But there could always be a 'system requirements' section on the game box.
Anyway, to late for speculating about that, their next next console will be the PS4 lol.

i think of it as a long tutorial. until about 8 hours into the game.
might i just add, you need to do some serious leveling up at certain points in the game bc the difficulty is not curved if your favor.
