I have and Idea!
K well I wanna start a Punk Rock band....
so I thought of this
Instead of having a guitarist doing the lead in punk, The lead will be Jazzy, while the rhythm guitar will be using the powerchords, barre chords and open chords in a very Punk rock style. The bassy should be bluesy and very catchy and drums will NEED to be hit very hard and be very loud.
Who thinks this could sound good?

well I can understand terms, if you tell me to play a Dbm7 I will play you that. I know some chords or chords but i am better with power chords and barre chords or open chords. I know how to write down music, but reading is a bit more difficult, by that I mean I can not play what I am reading at the same. I understand the concept of scales. I also understand that chords are all based on notes in the root note's major scale or something like that and the basic 3 note chords are based on the root, the third and the fifth.
when it comes to playing punk guitar I can do different rythms and I can play fast.
For blues I do not know much but I will start on it after learning some more jazz theory stuff.

Alrighty. Well, most popular music right now uses a chord progression such as
I IV V I
this is boring and over used XD So, stray away from it please. But more to the point, something that simple won't work with jazz simply because jazz chord progressions are usually IV7 V7 II7 at the core. They expand greatly of course and I'm not a jazz musician so I can't really tell you more there.
All that being said, I think this could be really cool. Keep in mind that the jazz lead will be improv mostly, so your songs will end up being chord progressions and jazz heads instead of written out music. Also remember that inversions are your friend. I'm not sure how a jazz improv would sound over a power chord simply because I've never tried it.

Well the lead would have some, but not much, distortion while the rythm will be well.... nothing but distortion XD
and I will post a youtube video of some sort and post it here if you would like I don't have the money to put it on F3music and let people listen so that or myspace... I think fun would prefer me putting up a video
and thank you were very helpfull, So I have to use alot of sevens right? and since it is mostly improve I will like it the songs will never be the same

it sounds like you want the rhythm and bass to do a simple 12 bar blues structure as zirind says using I, IV and V but with the lead using some weird scales over the top like say a lydian or dorian scale as the basis for the riffs so in this way taking something tried and tested and putting something interesting over the top or the rhythm section could use pentatonic scales for that heavy rock sound and again do something weird with the lead
