I bought the Xbox 360 today
I freaking waited in line for 14 hours and i bought it.
Kameo is kinda weird, and not what i was expecting though, but im only at the begining, i wish they would have had Perfect Dark Zero, but they only had 4 games in stock and 3 of them were racing games (eesh). but everything else is AMAZING. it was totally worth the time and money.
*sigh*
ok im going back to check out how much cooler Halo2 looks with Improved Progressive Scan and FSAA. =) then after the patch for Splintercell i cant wait to see it with better visuals as well. (thats so awesome that they made all the Xbox 1 games look better and run smoother!)

You may want to wait since there are a lot of defective units, I am reading a ton of topics about it everywhere:

A lot of people complain about the loud fan noise and how hot it gets as well. Some managers at Best Buy reported that the shortage of Xbox's are due to their recall of faulty units with lose heatsinks and problems with the graphic card.

same thing happend during the launch of the original,
on another note, i don't think i'll be getting one for a while anyways. the store in our little town only had 4 of the 399$ and a bunch of the "core" systems. all sold out before 5am. lol.

Yup I bought the Xbox around launch last time and the same thing was going on. Plus I see that only the diehard Xbox fanboys love the console, other people are saying it is a decent system but not really next gen. Check out this poll:

omnishugo its prety freaking sweet. it looks amazing and thats before i have fixed my TV (its currently being a spaz and not allowing my games to work in 720p. i've had this problem in the past and its just ticking me off, so its running at 480i)
fun, thats to be expected for all consoles now adays, though my console isint overheating and is very quiet. im still getting an extended warranty, just in case down the line it starts to act up (like my damn PS2's, wish i had warranty then)
i only have 2 games for it so far.

Perfect Dark Zero
both made by rare. and i can say that rare is doing a fine job at it. both are entertaining (though the begining of Kameo was kinda, um, bad. as soon as you get to town it gets better, becomes a hybrid of Zelda/Fable/BanjoKazooie.
saying that the 360 isint next gen is like saying that evolution doesnt exist. we all know that graphics are NOT what sells the game, microsoft went on the whole "Lets focus on things other than graphics this time around, how about community involvement!"
OH and silver is a free Xbox Live account that allows you to do everything but play games (you can still play MMO's though as they have their own servers and have a seperate fee) you can IM, videochat, post, download demo's, download trailers, download new content, download movies etc etc.
70% of the downloads are free, the rest use a "Point" system of purchase, so if you want to get a new theme for your Desktop (yah it has a whole interface that freaking ROCKS) you can spend 20 points, which i think converts to around $0.10 or something.

actually thats just for those consoles that Mountan Dew gave away. i heard around 10% of them got defected. possibly more. they are kinda a primitive model of the final version.

they are like Xbox 335's not quite ready yet.
hell if i won one of those Mountan Dew consoles i'd have just sold it on e-bay to the morons willing to pay up the yinyang for the hunk of crap. then i'd STILL have lined up at launch to get the 360.

Orgasmic. looks almost as good as that KillZone2 video we saw awhile back. im dead serious (and im running it at 480i, as soon as i get my TV fixed to show 1080i, it will look 3x better!
all in all, it was worth the $60 i paid for it (only limited editions left at the store, irony.)
i also got Kameo, at first i was like "I wonder if i can get my money back"
then i got to the actual story (it dident tell me i was still in the "training area, learning how to play" zone. which made me think the whole game was like that. thankfully it isint.) one comment on Kameo, i never knew elf's had pixie wings.

ok i got 1080i working. apparently they made the cable on the back have a switch from "HDTV" and "Standard"
dont know why, but atleast i fixed it without having to call tech support.
the graphics are better. not 3x better than 480i. but around 2x better.
PDZ though had a few problems i can see now. if i do something that kills more than 5 guys my FPS drops down for about 2 seconds. (unless i was supposto kill more than 5 guys in the story line. then it probably gets it ready and it doesnt lag, i dont know why it does it)
also an interesting thing about PDZ is that the cinematics looke WORSE than the actual gameplay. her father at times lookes cell shaded, it makes me sad when ever a friend comes over and sees the starting cinematic on PDZ and they say "That's it?"
then i get into the game and they say "HOLY * THATS AMAZING!"
Kameo has grown on me. i think im nearing the end, so its about as long as fable  but its very enjoyable, i love how smooth everything is and how the resolutions on all of the characters are so neat. its unfortunate how it baby's you along the game though, if you die you just get put back about 20 seconds back. and you have unlimited lives.
so Kameo is worth a rental because its short enough to make it a rental (if it was waaay longer it would be worth a buy rather than two rentals) PDZ though i so badass im glad i bought it.
unfortunately Quake4 for some stupid reason ISINT online compatable (why the HELL not?) so i will be renting that game rather than buying.
all in all. microsoft knew that they werent going to have the best graphics when the PS3 came out. so they worked as hard as they could to make everything else BUT graphics excelent.
and i can say they did a great job. the dashboard is awesome and friendly, you can customize it to your own taste. you can download new skins for anything on the dashboard. the HD comes with a free addictive Arcade game (i played it for about 2 hours when i got tired of RPG's and FPS's for a bit)
