Ive been playing FFVIII all through Christmas. I finally beat it and I thought I never would. The final boss took me 3 hours to kill. They know how to stretch out a fight. Im so pleased to have finished the game.
Im probably not the best player of the game though. I watched vids on you tube of people doing no junction runs and things and they still kill the bosses with ease.
This has also been about my 5th attempt at beating this game and ive had it for about 5 years. I think I finally understand the battle system and i may play the game through again because I think I can probably beat it so much more easily.
This has been such a great game, especially since its on the PS1. I think my final game time was about 55 hours.

Yeah I know 3 hours must be too much. It was the final boss of the five in a row. That took an hour and a half on its own. I then almost died when she used the apocalypse move. Only Squall could survive it. Was quite lucky really because most of my junctions had been blown away by that point.
I had to kill her really by using just magic or my limit break when my HP were at 1 from that one move.
Id like to know how much HP she had as it must have been well over 100K.

Yeah. Only trouble is I missed Doomtrain and as for Lion Heart I never got enough items to make it. I was stuck with some orange looking gunblade. I see from watching vids that having Lionheart makes a huge difference. Especially for limit breaks. 9999 X several times. Must make the game so easy.
it would of taken you ALOT quicker than 3 hours. Lionheart is like Omnislash and it is hard to win without them (well FF7 ONE WIGNED ANGEL boss dies or near enough dies from omnislash).

Yeah. In the vid I watched it was about 8 minutes to beat the boss. There are some real talented players of Final Fantasy.
Ill remember Omnislash for when I play FF7. Ive always wanted to play it and never got round to it. Ill probably play early this year. Sometime between playing Kingdom Hearts 2 and FF12 being released.

The part that really felt slow to me in the battle was when she did the move that pulled 4 different planets together. It took ages and was used too often.

i liked when she talked towards the end..but she never finished the last sentence though which i found annoying..forget what it was she was saying now though..been so long.
