No, it is not the only place you can get it. If you're into collecting cards, you can easily win it from alley-way jack/ the four armed man (he's not that powerful of a card player).
Coral ring will help you beat beatrix, which is one of the hardest bosses in the game unless you power level. It absorbs her "thunder slash" whish can 1 hit kill your characters (unless you power level). It also trains "man eater" which you can't learn for awhile (extra damage vs Beatrix and in disk 2, a lot more human enemies). It adds 2 to spirit stat, which is very good.
I suggest you equip it to Freya to learn Lancer, which chips away at both enemy Hp and Mp.

no you didn't spoil it Lucky XD i just tend to say that when ppl say something i didn't even know existed XD so if you say "there are pods around the world that can teleport you to the moon" i'll go all "d*mn spoilers!" XD
oh and the only game i know like the palm of my hand is FF7 XD and i haven't completed it yet...i start it over right before the final battle

I only know that because he wouldn't let me play him in the first disk and there was all this hype about him being the best and stuff.
Anyways, I don't know if it is true or not, but I heard you can level up cards by beating other cards with them or something...
But the best and hardest battles are in disk 4...
