I'm at Draklor Lab, facing Dr. Cid for the first time. i have about 42 to 43 hours of play time and my main party level is 41. I also have all my quickening for all my characters.
Cid is so hard though...i can't destroy his rooks. i get closer every time. It's hard because Cid's attacks take down anywhere from 500 to 1100 HP, which really sucks. I have the best equipment, but it's not working. As soon as I kill 2 of the 4 rooks, the other 2 attack like every 5 seconds, doing about 100 to 150 damage to my HP per hit, along with Cid's attacks.

Thanks...I didn't think he would be this hard...I didn't think any boss would be as hard as Elder Wyrm, who used Sporefall, which gave you almost every ailment(Oil, Confuse, Sleep, Sap, Blind, Silence). Sometimes he would follow-up with a fireball to an oil covered person, which was instant death.
Anyway, Cid is a different kind of hard. His brute strength combined with his immunity to damage until you kill the rooks make him very difficult.

Ashe = lvl 87
Balthier = lvl 85
Fran = lvl 85
Penelo = lvl 85
the other guy forgot his name = lvl 85
im going to Pharos at Ridorana....im doing some clan mob hunt i think...

Cid uses guns and guns ignore defense...so theres no point in even equiping armor or casting protect
im at 50 hrs....all around lvl 50 at the crystal place i think...with no map lol
i havnt played for 2 weeks
ok thats just pretty hard..if your gonna continue your game and your in crystal grande your pretty much screwed...you really need a map and a guide there...

i lvl in nabreus deadlands....monster there give almost 10k exp each with embroided trimpet or something that double your exp...and i only have to hit them twice and their dead hehe

wow, I'm like 41 hours into it, I'm just going to golmore jungle and Vaan, Balthier and Ashe are lvl 38. BUT I have almost my enter Lisense board filled with every character. It helps when I go cook dinner I just turn my wife loose on a map and she runs around to see if she can beat my 238 chain. I don't progress very far but I have all the monographs, over 100k gold, and like I said the liscense boards are almost full.
