How do you think Windows 7 will perform?
Since Vista has such a bad rep, do you think MS will make a comeback with the upcoming Windows 7 OS?

Well to tell you the truth I'm looking forward to the new Windows 7 just because Vista was such a big fail in my opinon I'm glad I never purchased a Windows Vista Computer. I heard alot of bad things about it. But then again Windows 7 coming out could be worse then Vista. So I guess we will just have to wait and see if they can make a comeback with this.  But I'm hoping nothing can be worse then Vista

Windows 7 = Windows Vista lite (basically) and more modular stuff...
I think it'll be good to see if Microsoft puts out a quality product from the start that isn't easily hackable or crackable... and has very good security features
Even though Vista gets a bad rep, 64 bit vista is actually really secure and now that it has driver support really good. You can run native 32bit programs in the 64bit environment and what not... Just bad decisions on security and what not...

ive been running 64bit vista and in my opinion, its superior to XP in every single way.
its more reliable
it preforms better
it is very resistant to viruses and spyware (0 spyware 0 viruses in 8 months with only a freeware Anti-virus installed)
windows 7 takes vista, and does two critical things.
1: its adds back in all the features that were too complex to be released at the same time as vista.
2: it finally is doing what so many have asked. its taking the bloat out of the OS. Windows 7 is modular, so while you are getting less software with your OS, what is taken out is mostly crap you never used anyway, or replaced with freeware from the internet.
it preforms better than vista, it improves security controls further, it changes the minor annoyances that appeared in vista and not in XP. it even improves battery life in laptops.
[edit] got in the Windows 7 beta, gonna try the x64 version on my laptop to see how it preforms as i haven't been using my laptop very much lately.
[edit again] Ohhh the beta is slow and sluggish. which is weird for optimized Vista code. well, its not due out for almost a year so by then they should have a good number of kinks out by then, but we'll see.

Sad to say I own a Vista.. *pets Compy* So far I haven't had any real problems.. I mean, ConnectUO/UOGateway (Ultima Online Free Shard Connecting Programs) Just won't operate with Vista unless you do major manual work... That's the only thing I've had an issue with...
But yeah, I've heard Vista is horrible, but I bought it before I knew it. >.> I hope Windows 7 is better, but it could be worse than Vista ya know lol. Without Bill Gates, who knows what they're doing. =P
