How badly do you want a playstation?
http://www.pcgamer.com/archives/2006/11/111706_-_one_le.html
one guy who waited days in line for a PS3. was offered a $7500 desktop gaming system free instead of a PS3.. all he has to do is sign a contract saying that he will never EVER own a PS3.
would you do it?
think about it.. the BEST computer i can build with custom parts is close to $4000+$2000 for an 30" LCD monitor.
(so about $1500 in labor.. or what falcon NW calls 'profit')

and then get sued because you broke the contract..
its not buy.. its OWN. the details on if he can play it at a friends house are unknown.. but for the sake of this argument, say you cannot EVER play a PS3 game either.

Well there is no way they will ever know if you play a PS3. That's what I'm getting at.
Ok yeah for the argument, hmm, Well I would say no because I don't use computers much really. I prefer consoles, and I want a PS3 lol

I would stick with the PS3 and not have the gaming PC. For me it's about the games and PC games just don't match to what will be on the PS3.
Although at the moment I cant say I want the PS3 that badly as I still have to wait another 4 months for it's launch but theres plenty of PS2 games to keep me going.

That's a tough one, I very much want a PS3 ::eyes up "extra" kidney::
Then again, DOTA and EverQuest beat to hell any console game I've ever played...
I think I'd have to go with the $7500 gaming computer on a few conditions:
1) Free EverQuest account for life
2) Free T1 internet line for life
3) Personal nurse to wash and feed me so I wouldn't have to ever leave the computer.

I'm pretty sure with that computer and a decent amount of knowledge you could download a PS3 driver or somehow figure things out

There isnt even a PS2 emulator i only know of 1 and oyu can only have demos for it from the site you try downloading roms and they dont work. The emulator was made a few years ago and no updates i guess they scrapped it.

yaah, the PS3 is designed in such a way, that it will be close to 15 years before PC emulation of the PS3 works right just because the Cell was designed so strangely.
mind you in 15 years our PC's will be smoking this current gen of consoles.

15 years is a long time to wait! When your older you dont get much time for that stuff anyway because of work and if you plan on having kids then that woudl take up the remainder of the time. Im 17 now so i would probly be working in 15 years i hope.
