Hidden HP/MP - Updated 3/16/09

I just had a thought, do you think the game would be more interesting if the monster's HP/MP were not shown? Kinda like in Final Fantasy when you are not sure if the enemy is about to die. Then when you are critical and use one last attack that it kills the monster, it feels more rewarding. Some may say that it would make the game harder and not to make the change. I could add a new skill where you can use an item or spell to display the monster's stats. Please let me know what you think Smile

Feature added. Enemy's stats can be revealed using the new Cat Scan Fluid item:

I think that would be a great idea, just to make the game a bit more fun.
If its not to much to ask, i also think monsters should give some more exp (but just a little, im not asking for free level ups!).

Thanks for your input. I was thinking about creating a new item in the shop (like the Brumos Repel) where you can use it to see the monster's stats during battle. I just played a bit without being able to see the stats and to my surprise the game seemed a bit easier since I was focused more on my health than the monster's.

Hahaha you know what's funny? At first I thought there was a glitch or something in the system but after reading your topic I was like, "Phew I'm NOT going crazy!" Very Happy I think it's a cool idea to keep the brumos' stats in mystery. Definitely keeps us on our toes. Very Happy

Wow I got to say this is like a real FF now it like when your in one of those tough boss battles and you think your not going to make it but then you do that last hit and you feel like you did it lol nice work FuN!

Just an idea You could always take away the item too and make a skill like that called Cat Scan or somthing we are in need of skills theres only 1 that I know of we have here and you would get it for mastering the Sniper or somthing that would be pretty cool Razz

Also didnt really know where to post this but is it possible to have a skill that uses Gil to attack like Gil Throw or somthing like it could be a skill. Just thought I'd suggest it.

That is true lol I used to hate that you would be so caught up in looking at their hp while your own would be going down the only time I would notice it is when it was red in the personal information section. I guess thats why in FF they dont show the monsters HP unless you have scan Razz or the bestiary in some.

It’s always good to know there is a spell or an item that will display the monster’s HP/MP, but I never really used them in FF games. I never really wanted to waste a turn or decrease Scans to 99 (In the case of FFVIII) Razz

I probably won't be using those items here as well, but good to know they do exist.

Another suggestion for this just thought of this now could scan be useless against bosses like in FF when it fails like on a boss just a thought don't know if you could do that.

It could display a message like

Sean994 used Scan...
Scan Failed You Can't Scan A Boss!

or

Sean994 used Scan...
Scan Failed Bosses Are Immune To Scan!

Again don't know if you could do that but it would be cool as bosses are like super hard monsters with an immune ability to scan.

Also don't know if this already is implanted but maybe Cat Scan Fulid could have a fail rate too?

And sorry for all the suggestions here I just have so many ideas for the new ability/item Laughing Razz
