Any advice for beating Shinryu without using the sphere grid
I'm serious though, it's the only creation apart from Nemesis (obviously) that I haven't beaten without using the sphere grid.
ps. Any advice on beating Dark Anima without the sphere grid either? I really do not want to use zanmato (in fact lets say I insist on not using it)

Ok so this is what i did i brought loads of mega-potions and mega phonixes and then I used a shadow gem on Amina making him lose half his HP and then I summoned all my Aeons one by one and used their overdrives it was a piece of cake

I said DARK Anima he's immune to gravitational damage and he's got 8 million HP. Not the normal Anima that Seymour summons. BTW zanmato is the move yojimbo does which makes you win instantly. What about Shinryu also considering my normal attack does like 60....

I did specifically say at the start I wasn't using the sphere grid. It's not that I don't know how to use it, I'm deliberately choosing not to. My armours are Auto-Haste, Auto-Regen, Auto-Phoenix and trying to get Ribbon on each of them. I've beaten every monster other arena creation (including Neslug, Th'uban and Ultima Buster, but Shinryu is just being very annoying.

I have a total playtime over 350 Hours, i can help everyone if you want
Even defeated "Richter" without "Zanmatou"
But if you wanna do this, you should max out everyone, luck isn't too necessary, but it helps^^

I hate people who just say, "level up" or "max your stats" for a suggested "strategy". Nothing against you personally. See my problem above, DragonX4 didn't exactly help (I finally have access to FFX again).

lessee... with dark anima(scratch that, with all dark aeons) then rikku is your gal, flanked by yuna and tidus(for the agility, but if you can find someone faster than yuna then go for it, but watch out for oblivion). You should enter with everyones overdrives full then hyper mighty g to get auto-life status, and have a HUGE stock of supreme gems to throw at anima. But you really have your work cut out for you with no sphere grid or zanmato (which I assume is how you defeated neslug)
I honestly dont think that even with 99 blessed gems and supreme gems you will be able to defeat dark anima. And normal attacks by yuna and tidus will just miss, even though anima isn't moving(what? doesnt make sense, but there you are.) so you should just use them to keep rikku intact. Anima causes poison, stone, zombie and curse with a normal attack, so you will need protecton from them: a ribbon should do it. And send out aeons to take the hit from oblivion if you dont want to lose your auto-life status. And get rikku's overdrive staus to comrade so that it charges when anima knockes 'em out.
All this doesn't mean that tidus is meant to be a spectator, because with the 'trio of 9999' mix move then tidus can cause some good damage to d.anima with blitz ace. God only knows what you can make do, probably use items, sacrifice aeons and get knocked out repeatedly (which, if you dont like yuna, is pretty fun to watch).
As for shinryu, you will have to hope for the best that tidus and wakka are erased, but I honestly dont think you can defeat this monster with no sphere grid, as it counter attacks everything. Still, have a go, and hope for the best

99 Supreme Gems and 99 Shining Gems only come to about 1.6 million (just 20% of Dark Anima's HP), not to mention every time Dark Anima kills you, it's a 3-4 turn delay. Also, blitz ace won't do 9999, 9 times. Apparently no-one has beaten Dark Anima in NSGNZ, but Shinryu has been beaten.
As for Neslug, I didn't use Zanmato. I just used Oblivion when it was about to enter its shell and destroyed the shell there and then.
