yea i do, but that aint enough.... and i hate it how ruby uses that whirlsand move, most of the time it takes out 2 members and takes out KOR with it

I wish I could remember I haven't fought the Ruby weapon in years. However I do remember that my stats were maxed and I made sure to keep causing damage and healing and after a while he died.

i thought it really depended on the materia combination, and mag att for 9999 damage with summons and magics, heard mime was essential for defeating ruby too

Ok I had to refer to my stradegy guide and here is how you beat him.
Unless the Weapon's claws are buried in the sand, its torso is invulnerable. Attacking it at such a time will prompt Ruby Weapon to use its quicksand attack that instantly eliminates a member of your party. Ruby Weapon will use this attack twice, cutting your party down to one. Once Ruby Weapon buries it's claws, attack the torso at full force. Quad magic and Bahamat Zero work well, and don't use Knights of the Round since he will counter with Ultima. Be sure to equip your characters with Final Attack - Revive combination or you wont stand a chance.

i never knew he counter with ultima, i thought it just that he's almost dying and that would be his extreme comeback attack, so i have to take off my counter materia if i dont want my party taken out by the sand.

kill of two members in a battle beforehand and enter the ruby battle with just cloud (bc he is the highest level. he wont ever do quicksand and jsut keep casting that knights of the round and you should be good if my memory serves me.

Yeah and if you die as cloud put pheonix on final attack so you will come back to life and try to put some weapon or armour on that will give extra ap

yes, how could i forget about pheonix... speaking of... there should be a pheonix armor you can equip (on this site) where if you die, it will bring you back once. how sweet would that be. even a pheonix summon. i might post the idea agian later in that thread.... but im lazy. heres hoping fun will stubble across it anyway ^^

said use kotr but then he will counter with ultima, you should use quadra magic- Bahumat zero that works well enough..... even though i nevcer beat him.
