hardest boss in final fantasy

what do you think is the hardest boss out of any final fantasy game... for me it would have to be between omega weapon in ff8 or yiazmat in ff12. still have never beaten them and have tried multiple times

Most bosses in FF are pretty easy if you know their secrets.

Example: As ridiculous as Omega may seem in ff8, he follows a very strict pattern that he never deviates from. Learn the pattern, and he's easy pickings.

He starts the fight with Lv5 Death. Then he moves on to this pattern for the rest of the fight:

Meteor
Megiddo Flame
Gravija
Terra Break
Ultima
Light Pillar

Repeat.

Though he will randomly throw in standard nameless physical attacks in-between the attacks in the rotation, not replacing them.

to beat yiazmut:
head to jahara, talk to the geomancer garif guy, go to the henne mines to find the door has been unlocked, inside the door is a path to zodiark. beat him and obtain his glyph.

now for the easy part: petrify yourself while have zodiark summoned to do infinite damage to yiazmat.

go reap the rewards of hunting yiazmat Smile

Yeah, that's exactly why you have issues with him. I didn't pay attention to them either until the first time I beat him, when I got him down about 1/4 of the way I started to realize that he was acting in a very predictable pattern, and that made it really easy once I figured out what the pattern was.

no bug. if you are petrified, he unleashes a move that does infinite damage.

i know bout the self revival bug...

oh and anubis... any thing over 9999 is infinite as the maximum amount of damage is 9999.
however this rule does not apply to quickenings technics and espers technics

This doesn't even make sense. If you're trying to say that dealing more than that will instant kill anything, then you have indeed encountered a bug.

Zodiark unleashes his ultimate attack when his summoner is petrified, it does 35,000 to Yiazmat.
"This attack will always deal 50,000 damage (if used against Yiazmat, it will cause 35,000), making it one of the most powerful attacks in Final Fantasy XII." < Quoted from the ff wiki.
35,000 comes nowhere near Yiazmat's whopping 50,112,254 health. If you have instant killed him just by summoning Zodiark and petrifying yourself, you have encountered some sort of bug, whether it's a damage calculation issue, or a summon dismissal issue, or what, there is a bug involved. Straight up.

Indeed. While the 35,000 it does do is a very significant hit, it comes nowhere near instant killing him.

That said, in previous FF games (*cough* VII *cough*) there were damage calculation bugs that would allow a player to instant kill any enemy they could pull off a hit dealing more than 65,535 damage.

For those who aren't aware, this is caused because 65,535 is the highest four digit hex number, which is the system the game(s) use for damage calculation. FFFF is 65,535, and once you loop it past that point to create 10000, the game fails to calculate the damage correctly, as it wasn't designed to handle those kind of numbers, and it results in flipping the number to a -1 state, which registers as infinity, instantly killing the target.
Do note though that the enemy's defense stat is calculated before this issue pops up, so it's almost, if not completely, impossible to do this to Ruby Weapon because of his extremely high defense.

Edit: For reference, they solved this in later games by converting to an 8 digit format, that is more commonly used now, which caps off at 2,147,483,647 and good luck getting that to loop over to the negatives.

very well. i, like anubis have a affiliation for exploring the various bugs of each game.
i didn't just use A bug... i used a whole pandaemonium of bugs.

first i had basch lvl99 with maxed out licence board. i used the armour glitch the reks glitch and the infinite glitch.

the infinite bug was performed by reks.
since he died back in the intro... and i used no soft ware. the game got confused AFTER doing the zodiark plot.

edit: for the record reks does not show in your main party. no replacement.
