Nah. Most people just don't put themselves as the main subject when talking about identifying with a fictional character or someone who they haven't met, in that way. XD
Probably makes more sense too.
The character can't say they identify with the person they don't know of. It is the PERSON who identifies and acknowledges the characters struggles. XD I talk to plenty of people all over the world, thanks XD

I'd be inclined to agree. After all, a character is just a character.... They might have lines that are relevant to one's current situation; however, it does not mean that that the words for directed at said person.
