uh regarding the battle system
just make sure when you get paradigms you learn to set them up properly and you wont find it overly hard like some people cough stappy cough

as for the skills/ability, sadly, the crystarium (the games equivilent to a sphere grid i guess) is pretty limited and if you arent skipping too many battles, you will have each section full before you have access to another anyway so it is pretty straight forward.
each characvter will have access to certain jobs which you will probably stick too even if they can use any of them by the end of the game XD

if you are going for all trophies then remember not to sell everything wrecklessly
to get treasure hunter you need to have had every item in the game, some of which can only be gotten from upgrading other items

Also... scan the crap out of enemies at first. There is a trophy for 100 scans and some boss/summon battle have special... quirks about them.

Also ch.11 is where it is at! Don't feel obligated to stay though as I was, because you can come back in chapter 13 and post game.

You probably won't like the game to begin with but, once you get a hang of paradigms and leveling items/accessories/weapons (which is kinda new to main stream FF), the game takes on a much better tone and is really enjoyable.

Yeah as arc said set up those paradigms...also invent your own...dont just stick to the ones they give you. Like Rav/Rav/Com is a pretty good one that will help you out a lot...as are different combinations with healers so just play around with it.

In regards to the 20 hr tutorial...I wouldnt sweat it much...it doesnt feel like a tutorial really...at least it didnt to me...I mean every once in a while they will teach you something new but you feel like your immersed in game play anyway so I wasnt really bothered.

And hey you might like it at first...I was completely into it from the second I started playing XD
