Is it just me or is hope a whiny annoying boy? 
i started over but ive only made it to hopes house on the other account so maybe later in the game he stops whining lol, and im not talking about his mother whining par.he whines aobut everything.

No he's a little whiny (expletive deleted). I have problems, more so than he does and I don't whine about it all the time even when I was 14. His character is easy to hate.

hes 14, his mom just died, he is on the run from the law, everything he knows about the world has changed, he is alongside the person he blames for his mothers recent death, he is fighting litterally for survival AND he has yet to e laid assumingly
you had these problems when you where 14 ?XD

Well it is fictional reality. Perhaps what the question should be is why did they make his persona so whiny when they could either wrote him less whiny and annoying or make up a older version of the char. I didn't think the story needed an extra whiny annoying runt in it. It would have been just as good if they left out some of the whine.
Then I dunno maybe its lost in translation from japan and doesn't seem as whiny before it was translated and the translators went with this.

I dunno I mean I can see where your comming from...but I wasnt bothered with him...I think its nice when characters show emotion like that...I think a 14 year old would be like that in that sort of situation...makes him seem more human to me XD

i agree with aruko XD
and perhaps he wasnt so whiny int he japanese version XD
but just becuse the game doesnt need him doesnt mean it shouldnt have him
you need to put parts intoa game that arent "needed" otherwise all games will be generic XD

Yep and then some. Addicited to huffing drain cleaner and computer duster. Lost my big toe in a freak carpentry accident and born with a second, mutant thumb. But I kept my cool and played through it. Now I am becoming a integral part of society.
I think it shows when Vanille goes back to Oreba and sees that everyone she has ever known (besides Fang and Shakti) is either dead or a ce'ith and does she whine no, she moans.... lol but seriously it's because the char of Hope was raised in wealth and so that is all he can do.
Where as those not raised in wealth know to just buck up and get along.
