I think I know some of you who said you'll be getting this, or already have the Beta. What's it like and what server are you on?

As far as I know we are trying for a UK server....but thats all I really know...I cant say much about it because I only just downloaded it a little while ago and there havent been any beta weekends that I can do yet...so Im looking forward to trying out on the next one...but yeah we actually have quite a collection of people from funender it seems so should be fun XD

Wing was thinking of joining an EU server if the US server lagged. I'm not sure what he decided. I think that is what Rukie is talking about.
So far i know Myself, Rukie, 3nfy, Wingy, Mabus, Tehya (Endnekind/Pinataheart) and yourself obviously.
Mgold may join at a later date, nearer Christmas as far as I know. XD
I have already pre-purchased the game and played in a few beta. xD
I love what I have seen so far but I will leave it to wing to answer "what is it like" because he probably has pages prepared. Not even kidding. xD

Haha he was harping on about it a while ago to me, telling me to watch videos and such but I've only just started doing so, now that I've finished a few of my console games. I'm also buying a new pc so I might consider switching? >.>
Do you know if there are any aussie servers? (I doubt it) but wow had some a few years in but they weren't actually aussie servers so they were still laggy, just that everyone was laggy XD

lol, the ammount of players arc mentioned seems to be correct
i havent prepurchased it yet cause i preordered teh collectors edition and the store is kind of being a sissy and not letting me pre purchase it <.<
anyway, i played through the beta on Arc's account and i have to say im loving it.
because of dynamic events the world feels a lot more alive as any other MMO ive played so far, people like 3nfy compared the dynamic events to the game Rift but when he played it he also said i'd not that much alike because the rifts are in entire regions where as the dynamic events can be in just small places and they're scattered all over.
the gameplay is fun so far, leveling your most important skills from the weapons you get and other skills through a reward system where you need to do certain achievements that are scattered over the world makes it feel diverse on how you get the skills, not the standard level up to 20, i can finally use this skill etc, you have a lot of free choice though from the last beta they did add a tier system and you need to be higher level for the elite skills, might come back on those later
they say they added the tier system to balance out the skill set and that it makes it easier for them to add new skills later on.
the PVE so far is quite awesome, the personalized story they give made it feel like a single player RPG but with people around you, during the beta one of the instances glitched and wouldnt load early in the game so this isn't exactly a great review on that, but from what i've seen up till that point it's put together really well...
after that glitchy part i just started roaming around the world, exploring a litle, and doing that felt really rewarding, i didnt need to go from one guy in city A to another guy in encampment A to get the quest to kill 25 boars
i was walking around, on the map i saw a circle indicating a dynamic event so i go there and check it out
there was something going on like, this one guy is going out of town to deliver something, follow him to protect him, but it's all optional, i could just go "well screw that... im moving forward" and it wouldnt slow my progress...
the only PVP area i tried was world vs world, which bassicly in it's name is missing another "vs world" cause in this gamesetting it puts 3 servers against eachother on 4 different maps fighting for supremecy, the server that has the most terrain on those maps (dominant in WvsW) will receive a global (server wide) buff to certain stats like gathering material success etc
the world vs world i did seemed like a lotta fun, but because it was just a beta and my server was really loaded with people and the other 2 were near empty we dominated it too much, but i still got to lay siege to 1 keep which was a lotta fun, loads of spells and siege weapons etc going around, lots of chaos yet you knew what had to be done.
i dont know how the other pvp (more arena play) will work out but from what i understand they take that one really serious because you're bassicly going in there naked, no gear, all skill based.
certain structures can be destroyed during etc, but this is only from hear say.
anyway: arc and i are extremely psyched about it, we sit on skype going "i want guild wars..."
so i hope this kinda gave you a decent idea on what to expect
also: the server picking will be determined by how much people care, if most americans go "i dont care" i'd like an EU server, but if most americans go "i find it important" i'd probably just join their server...

Wing isn't in charge of who anyone else plays with on guild Wars 1, no. XD I don't think he ever claimed to be. XD
I am waiting for the final beta weekend event next weekend to see the final two races. I really want to see what the Sylvari can do. I don't care too much about the Asura. I am not playing a chibi midget. XD
