Growing up... -.-"
I'm sure a lot of you have been thinking about this "adulthood" at least once in your life. Basically... I hate it lol
NUMBER ONE reason would be the fact that everyone expects me to do something I cant.... for example, my mother... she expects me to play "mum" and clean andc ook AND study AND be with my bf AND do my part time job. like WHAT A HELL?!

I think adulthood begins at around age 26 because that is when I began having a different outlook in life. All of my aggressive feelings went away and I just accept the bad things that will never go away and try to enjoy life. If people are asking you for something there comes in a time when you have to let them know that it is not possible.

Hey Kai, i know what you mean, remember when you were young, and you spent the night writing down what you were going to do the next day and it said "eat ice pops, Play" and that was it, i miss that!
chicldhood, not a caare in the world!
now im 20, i own my house and all i have is this pressure to work hard, pay bills, take care of things and its kinda stressful, i dont show stress, i like to think if i ignore it, itll go away!

Well, just get on with what you can do, and ask for help if you can't. paying rents and bills this year has definitely been an experience, as was house-hunting.

things can sometimes just get so hard!
when your first sum of Ģ4500 comes out of your account in one day and it finally hits you that this is the real world now!

it depends how u define "adulthood"
under United States law i am considered an adult, but then again if I was 5 I could still be tried as an adult

Well, I kinda still depend on my parents financially. But having to handle the paperwork etc can be a bit stressful.

I think I've actually reached that phase of 'adulthood'. I'm only 25 but I've kept the same job for 7 years, I've been married for almost 5, have two wonderful children, a house, a ton of bills, one car that is paid for and one that is not, cook and clean up after four people and two animals, and don't have to depend on anyone else at all financially. I can't go out when I want, or spend time doing 'adult' things - I miss it, yeah - but I don't get stressed out about it. I think that once you get to the point where you worry more about whether or not the kids have clean clothes for the week or enough snacks to keep them quiet instead of which bar to attend on Friday night, that is a sure sign that 'adulthood' is bearing down on you like a subway train in a very dark and narrow tunnel.

Do you think you have what it takes? |

i think the first real step is moving out of your parents house and being responsible for your own house etc. once you do that then the day-to-day things like washing your dishes doesnt seem as much of a chore, its just something you have to do (still dont like to do it though!). once you've lived independently it's next to impossible to go back to living with your parents (for me anyway).
after that, the next big step would be children/marriage but thankfully i'm not there yet, plenty of time for that.
seems to be a balancing act between freedom and responsibility in many ways.

I donīt consider myself an adult yet (I think itīs okay since Iīm only 1 , but life changes quite a lot every year that passes, at least for me.
Iīve never been much of a hanging-out person, but now I donīt have much time for it even if I want to (due to study/exams); Iīm thinking about getting a decent job for summer, since I need money to buy the things I like (and asking your parents for money is sort of shameful), and after all I donīt have much free time, which I had a lot last year.
I guess itīs not that bad anyway, you have to look at the good side of everything. Being an adult youīre supposed to be independant, and you can do lots of things you werenīt able to when you were a child. At least I hope so

I say your only as old as you feel
sometimes I feel like I'm 5 and their are times when I feel 50
I've had little responsibilities every since I was a "child," so I don't know if I would fit into anyone else's definition here
I've always been sheltered and I probably always will be thanks to my real-life friends & family
I don't know if that is a good thing or not, but it is what it is
