yeah. i know car dmg is coming to gt5p eventually so thats good. and once you beat the main classes (c,b, and a) s opens up and you can tune things and its a lot more challenging. i just wish they had some endurance races but.... good things come to those who wait i hope...

double post. la la la
So Gran turismo mobile for the psp has been confirmed. With something like 800+ cars... i think 32 different tracks and running at 60fps it should be epic. though from what i understand its pretty much gt4 for psp.. which im pretty okay with. Im sure it has new events and stuff going along with Gran Turismo 5.
also, Gran Turismo 5 had a trailer at E3 as well. showing off more licensed cars including those from the WRC racing and NASCAR (which i dont care about lol) it looks to have a ridiculous amount of stuff. also in the trailer (which looks to be simply replay date (not counting the pit stuff)) is car damage. it looks to be epic.
both trailers can be found here: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/06/03/e309-the-trailers/ along with some other trailers that were shown at E3. en-friggin-joy.

I saw the trailer mentioning the Nascar and the WRC. May be just me but I think Sony should have kept the F1 licence. Would be complete if Gran Turismo could have had the F1 incorporated into it as well. Cant say Nascar interests me either. Cars going round a speedway track is just boring and if your in the lead with fastest car no way you can lose.

well interestingly enough, the whole licensing of nascar and wrc just means they can officially use events that are real and cars they want.
just because they didnt mention an F1 things, doesnt mean they can do what they did with the past gt games. they usually had like 5 models or something and then one main race you had to use them in. so my bet is that that is still in there. i can tell you right now, there is an f1 car in gt5p right now.
also, its not out yet so they could always get the offical f1 licensing too.
although...

It's very important for us to make sure everything is done perfectly and everything is done in detail. |

hey you guys. well... gt portable came out yesterday... and i picked it up right away. its pretty magical.
it doesnt follow the setup it used in gt4 when there was a large world map and stuff and an american circuit and a japanese circuit and so on. instead you go into single player, you pick your car, track (they are all racable from the start) and you pick single race, time trial or drift trial.
when you start out every track is set to difficulty D (the highest being S) you can set the lap amount as well and for some if you want only from a specific manufacturer. so given all those options it will give you a certain amount of credits if you get 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. it gets almost hard at the b rank.
the other big change is that no longer can you go into the dealership section and buy any car you want if youve got the money. so for example on day one you start with 100,000 credits. you can buy from the listed manufactures but that list changes buy the in game date. so every day change new cars will be available. the main reason they did this (my best guess here) was because you start racking up credits like crazy right away. so when you see an awesome car, you better hope you have the money for it....
but given that, i have seen a lot of cars carry over. its pretty much based on the idea of "hey we dont have that car in stock yet, just chill"
that being the case, i still wish i could see the entire list and put in a bid for a car or something and when its available i get it.
anyway...
also, theres standard driving physics and also professional. pro is the way to go and its probably what you are used to. standard doesnt feel arcady or anything but... yeah.
two side things, if you buy the game as the downloadable copy, ou get a pretty sweet ride for free. the nissan gtr SpecV (SP model) '09. coming in at 478 hp, 433.97 ft-lb of torque and in 4wd its gonna really get you rolling.
also, any car you buy/unlock in gt portable will be unlocked from the start in gt5 when it comes out. thats pretty cool of them.
first track i raced was nurburgring and it was glorious.
so its a little steep at $40 considering your only objective is to get every track up to S level and get as many cars as possible.... but i guess previous gt games didnt have much more than that anyway.
oh, max number of laps you can set are 99 so you can set up your own endurance runs on any track and get crazy credits from it. pretty sweet deal.
thats all i can think of. if youve got questions, just shoot.

The one thing that really bugged me about GT for the PSP was the lack of a gran turismo mode. In the PS1 and PS2 games, I never played on Arcade mode so it feels like there's no real progression in the game, but more of a "grit it out" game. Also, there doesn't seem to be much point in the licenses either (unless it unlocked some courses without me noticing). You do get credits for passing the license tests. Other than that, it doesn't seem to mean anything
The licences seem a bit odd to me too. It seems a bit harsher than its ps1/2 counterparts, but getting gold is also easier. In the rally tracks, you will rarely get away with scratching the car while you will had to hit the wall quite hard to fail before. There is also a curious license map where you pass licence A (the lowest) and it unlocks both B and C, then passing either of them unlocks D (which unlocks E and F). Before, it was just a case of pass the B licence to unlock the A licence (then International B- Int A- S). There are 17 licences in total in this edition, though it never gets to the difficulty of the old S licences.
