Good and Evil, Light and Darkness (Earthly Point of View)
This is an RP based on the book series "This Present Darkness" and "Peircing the Darkness". You don't have to have read the books to join in.

In a future where technology has advanced to the point where it is almost impossible to use projectile weapons due to the Interior Zone Protection Sphere, where uncertain times are falling upon the world. True the US regained its position as the world power, but it isn't the United States that was once known and loved anymore by some, and others have a solid reason to hate the United States. There is a war of religion. Through court cases, rigged, but unprovably so, the government has established that most religions violate the Constitution and are thusly unconstitutional. The only available legal religions now are Satanism, humanism, and atheism. Though the rest of the world doesn't know it, there are some who fight against this oppresion. They are called the Light. The new government determined that all light was a waste of energy when an invention allowing people to see in the dark hit the market and all comunication and imaging technologies were made to be do-able through a cyber interface system from the mind directly to a CPU, requiring no monitors or phone screens. They also claimed to fear the affects of Global Warming and designed a cutting edge new technology that blocked the light from the sun and converted all UV rays into electrical energy, this is also the very same Interior Zone Protection Sphere previously Mentioned. Some foreign countries say it is the greatest invention man has ever devised...others say it is the greatest abomination to nature we have ever come up with. But there has been no way to prove that. Through advances in technology they have made all animals and even the vegitation have the ability to survive in this eternal darkness. Unknown to the foreign countries however there is a group who resists it all. They rebel by worshiping in ways contrary to the "law" they find ways to bring the light back either through torches or even through hacking the IZPS and making it let sunshine in. They are feircly opposed not by the usually law and order systems, no, by brute force of the government lashing out. There is a season for everything. This is the season for a war. Between the Dark Government, and this group known only as the Light. There is only one question about it my friend, why does the government so hate the light?

Description: Wearing a White shroud and a large smile, face is covered down to the nose by a white hood. Based on a few slashes from our Black Light Laser Sabres, the Shroud is Cybercotton like the usual uniforms and like most other of these "Light" people usually wear. Better protection from lasers than just clothes, but not inpenitrable to be sure. Reports say that he/she is very...kind, caring and even...understanding. Sometimes his/her voice is masculine sometimes it is feminine, no doubt the Voice Changer 9000 that people have reported detectecting on their Hardware Finder when The Glove has been around. The glove wears white gloves and the sleeves go to the start of the glove. The only part of the face or the entire body for that matter, that is visible is that smile...and those eyes! Those loving eyes! (Officer who wrote this recently left the force, possibly for retirement.)
