Going Green
Nowadays its everywhere - TV networks are pushing it, politicians are yapping about it, more and more companies are working to 'Go Green'. Do you think that we have a chance to undo all the damage we've caused so far to our dear Mother Earth, or is it too late and humanity has already drained too many resources and ultimately caused our own doom?
Personally, I think that it is good that there is a movement beginning, thou I believe we depend on plastic, paper, and oil too much in our every day lives to make much of a difference unless we get everyone on board, including the US Federal Government. It will cost money, probably a lot, but what price is right to guarantee an Earth to live on in a hundred years or so?

Do you think you have what it takes? |

i think it's good that ppl finally start to realise we need to do something if we dont want to destroy this planet completely...however, there will be always ppl who will look more on money than ecology which is really sad...i think it is possible to do something as you said if everyone will contribute to it

I think the reason not many people care is because they believe it will not have a major impact on the planet right now so they rather let the next generation worry about it which is pretty ignorant.

Well, coming from Scotland to London was a big difference, in terms of recycling.... Most Londoners don't, or can't, whereas at home the council does take it seriously.

But children follow what they see parents doing, so unless they start now it will never happen.

Most companies don't have it as a priority because there is a huge investment required in to changing to green energy, so they are making sure that the company is secure before making a full witch.
Other than that there is also still billions of dollars to be made from non 'green' materials
People not caring because they think it won't have a major impact is true too. Lots of people still flog their power to the max, like running the air con all day, leaving all their electronics on at the power point 24/7 etc.

I agree cable. To Stappy, yeah and on another subject I do not understand how compaines like Waste Management say that they spend billions in research on going green... I wonder why it really costs that much.

you have a point there!!!
realistically i dont see why we all need jeeps and porches tetc to go around the city, i thnk that there should be a lot more "Eco-Friendly" cars (i.e. battery or hybrid)
also more money should be spent on public transport!

Public tranport is definitely good, but it can do with loads of improvements. Especially in smaller towns and villages.

another problem is americans with their cars, have u seen some of them? just giant gas guzzlers tbh.
localy we have tonnes of places for recycling, we even have schemes for recycling old christmas trees, the real ones, after christmas.
just takes more than recycling to really make the difference in the world

Yes it does. But it does help and I don't understand why more people don't take advantage of it. It doesn't cost any extra money for the individual (at least it doesn't for us) and you are doing something good.

Haha yeah I hate SUVs. Yesterday I had to go shopping and every SUV on the road was so huge it blocked my line of vision since the bumper was right in my face along with their 10% window tint. I don't know why they buy those huge vehicles and pay $120 a week to fill it up. Instead of paying $80,000 for a big box I rather have a nice sporty Benz.

Obviously, its preferable if the transport side gets sorted(since it is one of the biggest forms of pollution in the world).
