there was a time when they said diet 'pop' as you call it (i laugh when i say it aloud  ) had a dangerous chemical, specially for ppl older then 60 and younger than 25?...i don't know if it's still happening...but anyway...
i love coke XD not diet coke, just the normal one...and i'm trying to cut back on it, lotsa sugar make me hyper XD ask stappy! XD and there are always this 2lt bottles which you can re-use...i mean ,you take it to the store and leave it there, take a new one and it's cheaper ^{ of course, that's here XD i don't know about chicago or other places...

You take them to the shop and get a cheap new one? Wow
We have all 2litre bottles too, but you just buy new ones lol. Thats the cheapest way to buy them. Of course we recycle the old ones.
Renorocks who lives in the usa once told me cans were cheaper..But here the big bottles are way way cheaper so I dunno. Anyway that's off topic.

well i mean, you take the empty bottle to the store and you get another one, identical to the one you just emptied XD and that bottle is easier to recycle than some others...let me show you some pics!
this is the one you can give back, and it costs...about...1 USD? 11 mexican pesos
now, this one you have to throw it away, and it's...err ...15 mexican pesos, that'd be about...1.3 USD? well, that is the 2lt one, the 3lt bottle is 21 mexican pesos...1.7USD? man i need help i'm not good at this xD
the point is, cocacola takes the bottles you return and they recycle them

I get it. We recycle everything ourself. You CAN take bottles to a deopt where they pay you 10c a bottle though.

The strange thing is that the recycling refund is only available in my state, not the whole country. I think that it should be everywhere. Of course the down side to it is the amount of hobos that go walking around the streets getting every can and bottle they find, huuge bags on tow and a bad smell.

Hmm, what drove them to that conclusion?
And with the hobo's I do only partially blame the government because one thing that really annoys me is that they are willing to bring over or help out many people in less fortunate countries, but wont do a thing to help the homeless here. Now there are plenty of agencies here that do try to help the homeless but I'm not sure if the govt is affiliated with them.
Another thing is, I think that most of the hobo's would simply abuse any help if they were given it. They aren't very nice.

I like how this convo has gone from global warming, to recycling, to hobo's, and to latinos and the american government. Ah good times lol
Well it might just be a biased assumption, I don't know anything about it.
I blame people themselves. When people say "The 'system' has screwed them" or something along those lines of judgement then I kind of scoff and think that these people are just passengers going along for the ride and now instead of doing something about it, they cry out asking for help, still going for that ride.
A current affair shows are the worst. They prey on victims of 'the system' or the whole david vs goliath scenario. Which is why I try to watch as little of those programs as possible.
A common story in recent times has been phone bills being too big or something. But it is the peoples fault for being lured into signing a contract that sounded too good to be true, and now they complain that they were 'misled' or 'being unfairly treated'. Maybe if they took the time to read the print, and think about the fact that its a major company that wants their money..
Maybe the elderly are a special case, but even then you don't know if they are playing "dumb" once things get out of hand XD.
But hobo's need help. A shelter or something. I'm not aware of any in my city (but we don't really have a hobo problem)
