to get on topic:
you dont just ask for a girlfriend. the online girlfriends are differnt than RL girlfriends for some huge reasons:
1: you dont know if they are actually a girl, or just making fun of you.
2: you start out as friends first, then become girlfriend/boyfriend, this is far different than it is in the RL
3: its an unspoken bond, you both will know if you have one
4: if you REALLY want one. go on iRC you will find one quickly. but your Man-impersonating-woman ratio goes way up.
5: online girlfriends are perty pointless. you send each other images of yourselves, and then after about a year you might meet. and then theres the possibility that the other person is a child rapist and then your screwed.
its just not worth it. just because you cant get a GF in RL doesnt mean that you should go to online GF's
if you want a RL GF here are some pointers:
1: Find a girl that wants to be your friend but not sexually or your girlfriend (there are alot more of these then of people who are attracted to you to begin with.)
2: Hang around this person all the time. THEN YOU WILL BECOME COMFORTABLE WITH THE OPPOSITE SEX.
3: never. EVER. fall in love with this friend. it will be disastorious. (i did. man it broke my heart. and i almost lost her as a friend)
4: Learn about women. you will see what makes them happy when somone talks to them, what makes them angry, what makes them sad. it doesnt apply directly to all women, but you will know when to compliment them and not have them call you a liar.
this is what im doing currently. i had trouble talking to girls without having concious thought. (just rambling) and then this girl came to me and asked me to be her friend (and then date her friend who was kind. but my GOD was she not for me.)
i have been her friend for 2 years. i fell in love with her once. but she broke my heart. and i got over it and we are still friends. AND i have learned how to controll womens emotions slightly, i can make her angry and happy. but it is freakign hard to make her happy (though sometimes being mean to her makes her happy. so frigging confusing)

Yeah, Thor's right. You won't find happiness trying to get a GF this way. Why don't you just make friends instead online?
You just gotta wait it out, someone is out there for you! I waited ages then 4 came at once- it's always the way!
Just go out and meet people, clubs and bars are great places for meeting nice people (supposing you're of legal age  )
