Gears of War
so i got the game, played the first two levels.. and taking a break because im screaming at the game because i just learned a new way to kill my enemie in an extremely bloody way and my heart is still racing.
Yes, if you have seen screenshots, video, audio, seen the cover.. whatever it is DELICIOUS. it is what i call "the first true Next-Gen Game" because it really is.
it runs at a smooth 40-60FPS meaning that you don't have random slowdowns (ok oddly enough the cinematic run at around 20fps for some reason.) and considering how intense the graphics are.. you can see why this matters.
if you want to get a tase of the graphical glory of this game
they are ALL ingame screenshots. they are ALL that delicious. and they ALL look much, much better when playing the game.
but the best moments are with you and your chainsaw gun... shooting a guy in the head 3 times and then tearing his torso in half with your chainsaw which spreads teh blood everywhere is a very gratifying feeling.
We all know graphics arent everything, and the gameplay will keep you on your toes. the AI will constantly be trying to Flank you.. rush you... crush you.. outsmart you.. and best of all swarm you. your allies will cover you as you do what you need to do to eleminate the aliens. by this i mean.. they distract them, so you can get behind the enemy and rip him in two with the chainsaw.. which you will only use because its so badass.
finally the sounds.. oh GOD the sounds.. its indescribable, but if you have high-quality speakers and Optical cable (like i do) then you will find yourself put right in the middle of the game.
Rating: 10/10
yes, this is a perfect game... im only on level two.. and i feel as if i was in the battle myself and not in my room with a controller. and any game that can do that completely as this game did.. deserves a 10/10.
i recommend this for anyone who wants a game of blood, gore, and possibly the best FPS game ever made. (oh yes, it beats Halo 2 in the story, graphics, and gameplay department.. i said it.. i meant it, and it challanges even some of the top-quality PC FPS's as well like Halflife 2.)

I have this game too. it is really good. I play it on a high deff tv with surround sound and it blows the mind. I love it. if anyone have XBL and wants to either go co-op or versus on pretty much any game if I have add CBTS KingsElite. thats my gamer tag. I play pro so watch yourself.

I was up late last night and on mtv they had a show about gears of war. im pretty sure thats a first. It was about them rushing to meet the deadline and then these two "super fans" or something. but seriously, its own show. ive never seen anything like that for any other game. microsoft was really pulling out all the stops.

i finally got to play it over my cousins house this weekend and omg i hope ps3 can pull off a FPS shooter game like that. THe game is totalyl badass dude. cousin beat it on ex-hard mode with a buddy on live and now their doing the Insane level and holy totally insane... and totallly the grahpics are badass games like these i wish i had. the rifle chain-saw gun is the *. im gonna see if i can go over his house again this thanksgiving break and play it.

the PS3 will probably get something that mimics it half-assed.. so dont worry.
*just realized something*
holy S.. remember how Bill gates said that the PS3 would launch into Halo 3?
well ofcourse its not out.. but realize this.. the Bungie team basicly said "* you bill gates, you are getting too excited. if you want this game to be any good you will let us release it when its done."
amazing.. no-one bullies Bill gates around except Bungine...
i have to say, Halo 3 is the ONLY game that i want extremely badly, but im happy whenever a delay is reveled.

well i dont have the game but played it and yuh its good i had too get some practice before i play it online tho i heard online is a different game all together and the players boot those who cant play so.......................

as some may know..i am in no way an xbox fan (ps3 gonna whoop it ..i think so..but we shall see.)
but this game is truly amazing..almost worth having an xbox for...the first truly nex gen game indeed.
i have warmed to the xbox now over the wii (bloody nintendo)

but if only they did tht with a console that was worth any money..its pratically a stick..not a console..a gimick. and they are moving gameplay away from gamers like me who have been brought up with gaming skill-precise button bashing...not waving a control in the air.

I have to say Gears is an amazing game graphically. I played it followed by COD2 and the difference is immense. So much so that the COD2 graphics just seemed really poor by comparison.
They have set a great standard that is really ahead of anything else.

im sorry but button bashing is far from a skill. reall sports requires skill, so what better than a game that incorporates those very motions into the game play. nintendo has taken steps to make gamers use skill and not your favored button mashing technique.
i hate to be so firmly against something, but i have to go against you on this.

i went to a Lan party, and there was a PS3 and a 360 hooked up to a 1080p TV..
two asian dudes were playing Resistance fall of man for about an hour... then switched to play Gears of war.
about 30 minnutes later the PC tournament ends and everyone notices the big-screen TV where the two guys are playing Gears of war. they all comment on how awesome the graphics are and how the blood really sells the game.
then somone says:
"Wow this proves that the PS3 graphics are ALOT better than the 360 graphics."
everyone laughed.
when we told him that it WAS the 360.. he refused to believe us..
it was only when we unplugged the PS3 and held it up to show that no cables were plugged in still and that the game was still on that he gasped and stopped talking.
nothing feels better than proving an ignorant person wrong.
