Game Reviews

ok well here is the basic format for all further game reviews

Name of game
Console (list all that the game is for)
Console you played on
Overall score (1-10)
Summary of the main review at least one paragraph length

EXAMPLE

Game: Resistance: Fall of Man
Available For: PS3 (Exclusive)
Played on: PS3
Overall Score: 9.25
Review: Resistance is one of those few really great shooters that you will come across as a launch game. This game has a great fun single player campaign that you'd want to play again and again. Nathan Hale (the main character) is a most memorable character with his confidence throughout the impossible odds of it all. Resistance is quite an original game as expected from the company (Insomniac) who is famous for its awsomel titles such as Spyro the dragon as well as Ratchet & Clank. The weapon choices in this game are really cool, with guns that shoot lock on tags and other that can set up sheilds and can shoot through walls. Needless to say these crazy weapons can lead to some amazing strategies with the online play in the game. Online you can through yourself up against 41 other players in intense 42 player matches. I find myself still coming back to play online just because of the plain and sensless fun of it all. Take great story, awsome and original weapons, memorable characters, and through in online play and you have a winner....Or more deffinitively Resistance. Lastly i would just like to say i'd recomend this to any FPS fan.

Name of game:God Of War
Console:PS2(exclusive)
Played On:PS2
Overall score-10
Review:The game is prob one of the greatest games made in the last decade. It is REALLY easy to pick up and play, bloody, and gory. The controls are pretty simple, its a 3D action/adventure game, with some puzzle elements and platformed elements as well. It follows Kratos on a journey to Kill the god of war, Ares.Alon g the way you acquire special abilities by other gods. Such as Zeus, Hades and more. There are only 3 Bosses, the first being one of the best in a game. The graphics are no pushover either. As you go through, you uncover shocking memories of Kratos. and why he is the way he is. Overall the game is flawless, with minor issues that are not gonna lower this ones score.
Graphics are a 10.
Gameplay is a 10.
Story is a 10
Storytelling is a 10
Overall this game is a perfect, 10.
Highly recommended to anyone who enjoys challenging enemies and innovative gameplay.

Review: Ok well i know im a little late for this game but i just couldnt stop from doing the review. I just recently was able to find a copy of this game and i completely love it. I had heard how it was supposed to be great but i never imagined such an experiance like this. In this game you play as Cloud. His memories are fuzzy and he belives himself to be an Ex-Soldier. Now emplyed as a mercenary Cloud is helping a group called AVALANCHE try to take down the Shinra Co. Then through a series of events a new evil is unvieled, That is the infamous Sephiroth. Along the great story you pick up five other party members and then there are another optional two to be found. People have said it before and i'll say it again. This is the role model for all RPG's, Never have story, Playability, and fun been mixed so well.

Name of game - Okami
Console - PS2, Wii
Console you played on - PS2, Wii
Overall score - 10/10
This game stands out, for it is unique and special. It gets you on the TV playing for hours, finding out special features, new techniques, inspiring music and tough bosses. This game will have you coming back to replay it, no matter how many times you have beat it. Okami, or Ookami as it is called originally in Japan, is about the Japanese Wolf Sun Goddess, and her adventure to save the world. In the Celestial Plains, where she and many other Celestials live, a strange species attacks from an airship, and many Celestials are killed. She finds a guide named Issun/Isuun, and finds out about the Celestial Brush, in which she is to use. But, there is only one thing she knows how to use it for, and that is to paint. But the brush isn't to paint a picture, but to paint life. If she were to draw, say a dog, then a dog would show up in real life, all real. Anyways, the story is very unique and interesting as you get further on. The techniques are all different, as you must fight or do a task to earn them, they range from a lightning storm, to running on walls. The music is an A+. It is so beautiful I cannot describe it. The graphics on the PS2 were better than the graphics on the Wii, because it looked paper like, making you stop what ever you're doing, look at the back ground, and listen to the music. Overall, I recommend this game to a gamer looking for something special and different.

Game: Kingdom Hearts
Available For: PS2 (exclusive)
Played on: PS2
Overall Score: 10
Review: When i had first heard abou this game i had major doubts about it. Disney and Square Enix? It seemed to be more of a childish game. I was so far from the truth though. This is by far one of the greatest games i have ever played. It is somewhere in the top three for me. The story follows Sora a 14 year old boy who dreams of nothing more than to see other worlds and places. After a giant storm hits the island him and his friends play on, he embarks there to make sure the raft he and his friends built to get away from their home doesn't get lost in the storm. In a short series of events Sora is chosen in the storm as the keyblade master. He awakes after the storm in a completely strange place called Traverse Town and soon meets up with Court Wizard Donald and Captain of the Knights Goofy. That is where the game takes off. Throughout the game you are tasked with closing the Keyholes. The Keyholes are where the main enemies (The Heartless) enter through and destroy the world. Whilst visiting the many worlds in this game you'll run across such characters as Cloud, Yuiffie, Cid, Squall, Aeris, Aeriel, Whinney the Pooh, Aladin, Jack Skellington, and many many more! The game plays as an action RPG similar to Crisis Core FF7. It sort of has the FF feel to it but improves upon everything the turnbased stratergy did wrong. It was the main product of Tetsuya Nomura (One of the Big Wigs of FF7) It has an amazing sound track as well. The music and area your in blend perfectly and you immediatly feel the mood of the game. Overall any fan of Final Fantasy games and RPGs in General shoulf punish themselves if they dont check this game out.

Game: Devil May Cry 4
Available for: PS3, Xbox 360, PC
Played on: PS3
Overall Score 8.5
Review:This game has its own style and thats what sticks out most blantently throughut the game. It has a Jawdropping sword play combo system and a gun thrown in for some sick battle encounters. That has to be the funnest thing about this game. Hitting an enemy into the air then coming down with your sword on them only to slash them to the side just in time to grab another enemy and smash that one all around on the ceiling and walls then finishing them off by throwing that enemy into the one before. Thats what you'll be doing for starters in the game! The Graphics and soundtrack are pretty good too except the battle music gets boring after 3 hours of the game. Quite frankley i dont really completely understand the story but the parts i do get are cool. Basically its about Nero a Dante look alike who is in the Holy Knights. Out of no where in a preach "His Holyness" is assassinated by Dante. Nero is sent to find Dante and this is where the game begins. Don't get me wrong its seems like a pretty immersive plot if i only understood everything. The only other flaw with this game is that it does get a little repetitive after a while. But if u can handle that and waiting a little to understand the plot completely then this is a great action adventure game that deserves you're attension. Very Happy

Game: Sword of Mana
Available for: GBA
Played on: GBA
Overall Score - 9.5/10
Sword of Mana takes the gamer to a world of fate, hope and rebellion. The game allows the player to choose what side of the story they wish to play as, you can play as the boy, a young child looking for his past as well as his future, his parents were slaughtered by the ruler of his world, the Dark Lord, and he seeks revenge, or the girl, another young child whose mother was murdered by the Dark Lord, and was taken to safety in the boy's house. You name the characters, though in the manga their names are Matt and Rose. The boy is more of a warrior type, and the girl is more of a magician type. Fate runs on through the story as every character is very important in the story, while you meet the girl, or you find your guardian, or find the Mana Sword, it all has fate and hope. The battle system was to represent another game, but it is closer to The Secret of Mana. It's very unique and fun, and as you level up you can choose to boost your stats to be like a Thief, Warrior, Monk, Magician, Sage or at Random. I suggest this game to any RPG fan who enjoys an original battle system, special characters, and a story they will remember forever.

Review: Ok well square_fan i agree mostly with your review but the only draw back i had personally for this game was that it was way way too short. i agree that it was an amazing game though a little repetitive. you see i have to take this into consideration becasue i think it was lik 5 or 6 hours only. you see its like having the most amazing cook in the world and he is an expert at any and every food but he only will make you dishes involving grapes as the main ingrediant. you see while every dish he makes is absolutely fantastic it seems lacking since everything is made with grapes.

Overall score : 9
Yes, I agree, it was VERY short. I beat it in a few days, not putting much time into it. Although not the best story, it was still followable. It did get repetitive, but what I really like about it, and that gives it this nine, is the game play. I haven't seen that style in a while, and it really gave me ideas for something, though I never followed through with it. I still recommend it, but only if you can handle these fall backs.

Review: From the makers of the great Jak games comes Uncharted, Naughty Dog's first next gen game. Roughly this is what you get when you combine Prince of Persia and Gears of War. there are great action sequences and really good platforming throughout. It has a great story that might have well been torn out of the Indiana Jones universe. You'll be jumping, running, and gunning your way through the jungle in search for El Dorado. Overall its a really addicting and fun platformer with just the right amount of action.

Name of game:Final Fantasy I(origins)
Console:PlayStation one
Console you played on:PSX
Overall score(1-10)-6.5
Review-Ah yes, the game that started it all. First off, this is for the PSX, meaning, it is the re-mastered one that came in FINAL FANTASY ORIGINS, but there basiaclly the same...ON TO THE REVIEWING..ok..so the game is legend, but it isnt as great as you may think. its above average, still.

PROS:
-Choice of your own character lasses, making it your way of playing.
-Fun gameplay.
-A couple of secrets in the game.
-Has a quicksave feature, known as "Memo Save"
-updated graphics, so it looks like your playing pokemon instead of final fantasy. lol.
-Bestiary, Art Gallery and a list of treasures in each town and dungeon!(only on the PSX version)

Cons:
-The games story is there, but it doesn't really tell you about the story.
-The interaction between characters is strange, as they dont tell you where you really need to be but rather, a mission and you kinda have to figure things out, which can be annoying.
-The main characters do not speak, they just do.
-There is no intro, you just START litterly, you just START THE GAME outside Cornelia.

but its still a fun game, isnt that challenging, and the ability to change classes at the beginning of the game to fit what you want can lead to re-playability to test out different orders and things.

so its a 6.5, above average, and fun to play. plus the bestiary and art galleries are fun to look at and may help you out in the game!
