Game page chat box
I am aware that a suggestion for a chat box to be put up on the main forum was rejected but this is a little different with perhaps a few benefits to it.
The suggestion is that we have a small chat box in the RPG game section
With it
Members can chat while playing the game without needing to open and switch between several windows.
I don't think it will take the traffic away from the actual forum part of the site as
we don't all play the game
you have to be in the game to chat
I am almost 100% sure ALL of the active members here whether they played the game and used the chat box would still post on the forums
It would also give the members something to do when no new posts have been made
And it has the benefit of being able to talk to other members playing the game on the site without having to get onto a social network or IM'ing .
(yes most of us already DO talk live while posting which also leads me to beleive if there was a chat box in the RPG section we would still post and be interested in the main forum)
Another benefit is that a lot of the newer members who come on for a short time either don't use the forum at all or make one post and play the game for a while
being able to meet some of the members and talk to them while they try the game may help encourage newer members to be active or even participate on the forum (plus it saves a lot of "I didn't read the rules please tell me how to do this" posts XD)

I'd like to third this suggestion. I'm sure the original creater *coughcough* of said suggestion will add their support behind it too.
Now we just have to either wait for Fun to come and read this or... Well I'm not too sure. Bothering Kim with with could be worthwhile or could cause her to become a Valkyrie and rain terrible wrath upon our brows!

I doubt I would use it too often, but it would help recrut new members to the forum because they would be like, holy s**t! This dude is chill! I wonder if the rest of the members are cool too.
So then they would go to the forums and yeah, it would be a very useful thing

But then she wouldn't be impartial right? And admins have to be impartial.
As with all suggestions, we have the cost-benefit factor to decide. If its a major piece of coding then it would require a lot of users to use it to be worthwhile doing.

I would also like the option to turn off chat because certain caves libraries' computers are not too fond of loading even the RPG page itself.
