Funny thing about previous consoles
It is funny how cool and expensive consoles look when they are first launched, but now looking at my Dreamcast, PS2, and GC, they are all in mint condition but they look like cheap toys heh. However when they first came out they looked so powerful and expensive. I wonder if in a few years after the NR, 360, and PS3 are out will they look cheap as well

All those consoles you've mentioned still looks cool to me.
The older the console, the cooler it looks to me because of the games and how it has been tested by time.
It's the newer consoles that look uncool to me.
Hell, my black and white GB looks cooler to me than the DS

wow, funny you mention that because I was looking at my cube today as well and it does look like a cheap toy!
I remember the first day I got it and it looked and felt so fragile and high teck, with the spinning fan on the side and the mini discs. Maybe it's because it's got a bit of dust on it, or cordial spilt on the side but it sure doesn't look as agood as it used to.
Also my N64 has a half ripped turok sticker on it which I posted in the Revolution controller poll thread.
My PSP still looks uber cool.

Wow, don't you guys appreciate the squareness and feeling of the NES controller over the dual stick?
Or how cool it was that the DC and Ps1 had flip tops instead of having to wait for the ps2's cd-rom to slowly slide open?
or how you got great games that didn't need a gazillion buttons to be great?
or how you didn't need to flip the GB classic unlike the DS?

Unfotunately I never had a square NES controller. My NES is the second model (looks nicer but its the same console). So my controller is a lot like the SNES one but no shoulder buttons.

Functionality of old school consoles. My topic was about how the current gen (soon to be last) consoles that used to look so expensive in the new era now look like toys.

Ahh...didn't mean to sound that way.
Well let's see... the GC to me still looks cooler than the Rev because it reminds me of a rubik cube and it has a better looking controller.
The ps2 looks cooler to me than the ps3 if the recent design of the ps3 is a sign of it's final form
The X-box looks cooler to me because it's larger and has more hard drive than the X-box 360 and has a large controller which i have no problems with.
