You mean the Japanese ships that could launch planes from inside them? Yeah I heard about them and I heard about the sinking! You want to know the real reason why they dropped the bombs? Maybe it has something to do with the Russians, who at the time were close to getting Japan to surrender, but then Japan would have been Communist (or heavily Communist influenced) and America didn't want that. So instead of spending 6 months trying to get to the Emperor at gunpoint, which is what was needed for Japan to surrender, and Russia was close to doing so, they dropped the bombs! Death toll... which of the greater allied forces the US had the least! German had already surrendered so most of the Allies would have been helping out! You need to read past the history books of your homeland and look into what they are not telling you! Read them from other countries in the war and try and piece together the actual truth!
Are you talking about the speech where the President of France, gave numbers as to how many nuclear missiles it had and promised to reduce the number by a third I think it was? Or how he's called on the US and China to ratify Comprehensive Nuclear Test-Ban Treaty, which they signed in 1996. Which I'm sure they still haven't! You wouldn't blame France for dropping a nuke... See that statement right there is messed up, hell I'd blame France for dropping a nuke! I think a Hiroshima Maiden said it best when she said,
"I would like to say to young people in the United States and other countries: Nuclear weapons do not deter war. Nuclear weapons and human beings cannot co-exist. We all must learn the value of human life. If you do not agree with me on this, please come to Hiroshima and see for yourself the destructive power of these deadly weapons at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum." For your information Canada does not have nuclear weapons at this point in time, I believe.
Do you even know the value of human life? Not just the value of American life? You statements would lead me to believe otherwise...
Oh imagery eh? Two can play at that game... How about invading a country when it had no ties to a terrorist attack to "change to regime" only to sit back and watch it's history and culture get destroyed (and the world's history), allow your soldiers to rape their women, torture their men, and murder innocents after they've had their way with them! Women screaming for help in a language they cannot understand, crying out in anguish, fear and agony? (I'm talking about a country not involved suddenly thrown into this not countries who are at war because I know that stuff happens in war) How about American soldiers sitting back and watching the people they said they'd protect get killed by extremists? How about destabilizing a whole country? What do you have to say for that? And let's leave the I didn't vote for him speech in the cellar! If you're so patriotic you have to stand behind your president for his actions as it is your government that is corrupt with lobbyists, corporations and Americas rule of 4 year terms!
How about Americans who back pack around the world posing as Canadians? Why does the world have such a negative view of America if it is soooooooo great?
I don't dislike Americans at all, but America as a whole needs to shape up! It's perverted views on killing need to stop as a whole!
How about America ignoring the UN? It's the permanent members on the security council that twist its ideal! (US, Russia, China, France UK).

Maby <_< as far as health care yeah the prices are way high because of capitalism and thats what makes it work... the hospitals aren't looseing money... because the bills are so high... so the people who can pay, or have the right insurance make up the loss... (yes its robbery I know!) but the point is, we can pay our doctors more, and pay more into medical research in order to have the most up to date medical procedures and equipment handled by some of the most qualified people in the world. When you are going to apply commun sense, make sure you have looked at all the angles

United States population as of 2009-301,139,947
this for one... make a significant difference on life expectancy when you consider that everyone has to be averaged together.
also France has 337 doctors per 100,000 people... the US has considerably less...
I don't think that France's health care system is bad however, lifystyle has a lot to do with it... and unfortunately most Americans are fat and lazy (thats not the health care system's fault) and thats truely what lowers the life expectancy so much... its sad really... so now you know why our GREAT healthcare doesn't work for everyone... we can't force people to stop being morons with their bodies lol

what do you think I do? and I would like to point out a little fact to you ^_^ The Russians never invaded Japan during world war two, it was quite the opposite. The Japanese invaded the soviet union twice, the first time it was 1937 and the last time it was 1940/1941. The Japanese were beaten back with heavy losses both times due to heavy fire power from russian tanks, artillery and infantry. go ahead... look it up <_<

and nobody was ready to help out are you kidding yourself? the only reason the US was in any condition to fight was for the simple fact that the war didn't come to US soil. Everyone else was still licking their wounds and we were fresh and ready to fight, this changed during the many naval battles we fought with Japan, they were brutal battles and MANY heroes arrose and I am very VERY proud of our naval victories but already US citizens were calling for a end to the war. So we made a decision. Still I say it was them or us... and still I say as selfish and cruel as it was, anyone would make the same choice. also im sure if anyone were actually poised to help us, they were able to breath easier when they said "hey Japan surrendered"
you sickened me by asking if I know the value of human life. when I picture France Retaliateing with nuclear weapons I guess I just figured your government would be smart enough not to say "hey hey! there was a single suicide bomber! we better drop a nuke on their most heavily populated city!" I guess I trusted a little too much?
as far as the value of human life... I think all life should be valued equally... however I hypocritically go against this. I believe that you would find this to be true in your life as well... say you have a choice... bomb the house next to you and kill everyone inside or wait it out and let them bomb your house first? lets imagine that both houses are filled with your full families and intimate friends... which are you going to choose? and are you going to wait to make that choice? No one else can make it, and you can't hear any voices but your own. you hold their lives and yours on your single decision... what do you choose? Will you commit evil to destroy greater evil? or will you allow evil to win? Either way evil remains... what do you choose?

well well look whose on the attack? must be running out of ground. feel backed in a corner? listen to me... I vehemently protested and demonstrated against such actions! I took part in everything I COULD to display my disgust! Plus I would like to inform you that my BROTHER was in the army and I KNOW those actions are NOT condoned. you want to know what happens to those soldiers? They get locked up, but not just in a regular prison. in a Military Prison. Men are scared to DEATH to be brought there, normal civilian rules do not apply! THESE ACTIONS ARE NOT A REFLECTION OF THE HEART OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE OR OF THE US MILITARY! it would be ignorant and closed minded to believe so. When was the last time you heard a report on the GOOD that ANY military force is doing? the news is ALWAYS bad, and will ALWAYS slander. it happens everywhere to every country. how about you singling out? grow up!
America does need to shape up! Agreed! and I for one am one of the people trying to start it. HOWEVER, slander will not be tollerated, ignorance will not be ignored. I love my country, I want to see it get better. But it is rapidly decreaseing as the Government dumbs the population and people start to simply accept what they are told. The big mistake both of you are making is thinking hospitals "write off" money that can't be paid to them under the hypocratic oath... very wrong... those bills are not "forgotten" they are turned over to a collection agency who pays the hospital just like if you didn't pay your credit card, and the injured party is harassed for years until their credit is destroyed.
The other factor your forgetting is the INSANE amount of frivoulous medical malpractice lawsuits. We do not have an abundance of doctors because good doctors are having their licenses revoked because of bullisht reasons.
Mabus, you simply do not understand american capitalism. Unfortunately the ground we laid our countries foundation on is a ground soaked in blood and money, yes I agree with that, unfortunately a scorpion cannot change it's nature *See fable - The Frog and the Scorpion* and neither can we. The majority of american people do not want to work for a better society, they want to do as little as possible and thrive off of the free services that are in place to protect the weak. Universal health care would just be another reason for bums not to get a job and I do not support it in american society.
And as for accusing our soldiers of raping and pillaging. You watch your f'ing mouth when you talk about our soldiers. You're twisted view of how our soldiers act is absorbed by a capitalist driven media and you should go to war before you talk about what it's really like there. I love you Fith ^_^ you are right, I can admit those short comeings of our society, and I am glad you pointed out that fact about uni health care being another reason for our lazy society to mooch... I forget that some things are not just universally known lol also I guess I may have my info not completely correct on the write off issue... but I know that I have gotten out of atleast one big medical bill simply because there was no earthly way I was going to be able to pay it... and my credit is fine...
thank you for being able to explain the thing about the soldiers better... that struck close to home for me because of my brother... so I wasn't thinking as clearly as usual...
