Forum Revamp
Hey hey ^_^ I know I just return and already with the suggestions... anyway...
I was just thinking about how many people on here like to RP, however all the RP's on here die rather quickly. I am not sure of Fun's bandwidth capabilities or what exactly Funender is capable of... however I had an idea to fix the problem while adding more threads and more activity on funender.
One of my favorite RP sites is rpol.net the way it is run is that every new RP game gets its own forum-like space with freedom to create its own threads add or remove people at its own will (while still being subject to the site owners of course and following certain rules which on funender are already in place)
I propose that something like this be instated for RPers on this site. Make Role Play its own forum and not a subtopic of the lounge and make it possible for RP's to be like the usergroups (I have noticed that usergroups don't last very long usually either. I believe that this is because they are created under the pretense of Role Plays and when they don't live up to those expectations they die out. I believe that what I propose would solve both problems and make funender a bigger dot on the map ^_^
Of course this proposition is subject to change... just my thoughts 
EDIT: there was some confusion about what I mean here... so let me just clarify a little.
The idea is to somehow make it easy for each (and every) RP have its own usergroup-type forum. Then after it has run its course have the RP deleted altogether. this would help in two ways
1) Less inactive threads around funender
2) RPs would be easier to follow and control therefor giving them a longer life...

No, we always get those people that just vote negatively because you give them that option. If you look at those polls with only positive choices, then there are about 3 times less votes. ^^

For the record, as with most polls (unless asked to vote), I have not voted in this poll.
I'm not sure I understand your suggestion... but here is a recap of the limits & abilities of our site. You already have the ability to add threads in the current RP forum. Only admins can delete or remove threads. Same with adding/removing people unless its a usergroup, then the leader can add or remove people. There is already a roleplayers usergroup. However it appears the current leader is inactive but I can change the leader to any volunteer that meets the guidelines. Also, that UG used to have a forum of its own but it went away due to inactivity. You are right in that there is a limited amount of server space, bandwidth, etc so having inactive forums for a usergroup is a waste of resources when its limited to so few members. Creating a new forum for each new roleplay would be very tedious and would not give you the ability to add or remove people. But if there are some members that would like to try a usergroup RP forum again linked to the current RP UG we can try that if you want. Just let me know who wants to be the new leader, I'll change them and they can purge the current member roster if they want and start fresh.

Well the idea is to make each new RP a temporary usergroup, then when the RP has run its course the entire usergroup can be deleted this would help in the following ways
1) Inactive threads would be reduced
2) RP would be easier to follow and would most likely last longer with more activity
3) It would possibly draw in a larger fanbase
A second suggestion would be to allow visitors to usergroups so they can see the threads but not post... that way people can decide whether they want to join the RP or not.

I like the idea, but having worked web pages before, I understand how much work that is. Giving the RP usergroup a forum will work 1 of 3 ways.
1) All the serious RPs will end up in the UG and the not serious just fun will be in the RP section.
2) All RPs will move to the UG and he RP forum will die, and that could lead to problems for new people wishing to join if the leader misses their request or something.
3) Or, the UG thread will be useless and unused.
The idea for letting people see UGs to decide to join would be ok for RPs but there are some groups, primarily AWOL, that are for members only for a reason, so that could be complicated also.
And, although I'm in no way opposed to Lucky running it, I thought she was running Kindness Counts?

That is very doable.... the forum can be set to public for read only and not post, only members could post.

I do make exceptions to that rule particularly when one of the UGs has no forum as with Kindness Counts.
I changed the RP UG to Lucky. Good Luck
Also, FuN and I are discussing adding a new text area field to each sub-forum. This would allow members to ask admins to make changes periodically to them for important announcements or what have you. This would be different than sticky or announcement topics in that it could handle HTML which would mean graphics. So for instance if you wanted to wanted to announce a new RP and display a sig type graphic for it, that stuff would appear at the top of the forum right under the title.
