She stretched her arms above her head, glaring slightly at the morning sun. The light brown locks fell in front of her eyes and she rolled her way off of her bed. Any other day of the week, she would have just fallen back asleep until her servants came to wake her up; but today was special. The fighters that she had chosen were to come today. And after a week straight of doing nothing but looking through resumes, she was determined to make sure that today was perfect in every sense of the word.
The knights stood at the front of the castle, staring curiously at the young girl who approached. They stared down at the "guest list", as their empress called it, and back at the girl. "Fate Testarossa? May i see your invitation?"
The young woman stood on her balcony, gazing out over her kingdom. She could see a vast and various landscape; filled with trees, lakes, and towns. And it was hers. The jewels that adorned her neck and ears, hers. The white gown with gold trimming which trailed behind her onto the ground, hers. She was an empress, and a proud one at that. Her people lived in peace.
Peace. Something she had not always known. If it wasn't for her father settling the disputes in the neighboring countries, her rule would have been much more difficult. Several assassins had been sent to the castle, one had managed to kill her mother. But the staff at the castle had done a very good job filling in the void of her mother. They made her clothes, given her food, and taught her everything she had known about the world. The person she saw as her best friend, the gardener's son, had moved away so he could be closer with his mother on the other end of the kingdom. And while she should have expected this occurrence to make her sad, she felt nothing. She was not sad nor happy.
This day. This day would define how the rest of her life would be laid out. And any moment, the people would start arriving.
Fate turned and saw the empress. She immediately brought out her invitation and brought it forward. As she reached out to give the invitation paper, she could hear the whispers of the people behind her.
"Are you serious? A nine year old?"
"Whatever, as long as I'm getting pain for this."
Fate didn't look at them. I don't belong here anyways. I'm just doing this to survive until my Linker Core recovers, then I might have a chance to go home she thought.
She looked up at the Empress to give her the invitation papers and said nothing.
Kassandra stepped up to the gates. I'm going to help thr Empress She smiled, cuddling the cat in her arms closer to her. It waved it's arms to try to get away but Kass didn't notice. I'm going to make her happy.
"Kassandra Kerr." She said to the guards

Tehya rushed towards the castle running fast building up momentum and speed then she jumps dramatically and lands, stopping in front of the guards.
" I am Tehya Pinata", says Tehya,"And I can dance for you before I go in if you want me to." Teh gives the guards a wink.
Ryu walks casually through the crowd, his gun across his shoulders and his hands draped over it. People seemed to instinctively move out of his way as he approached one of the guards.
"Here's my invitation."
he whipped out a piece of paper from inside his bracer. As he saw the empress on her balcony he gave a friendly wave and continued past the guards.
"Ahhh!" Kassandra fell backwards, dropping the cat, as a very pretty woman jumped in front of her. Saying something about dancing.
"You should really look where you're going." She said. "Someone could have been hurt."

"Sorry I am just really excited. I haven't been out of the gypsy camp much in my life. This castle is so big! So many people! I wonder how many I could have as an audience of my dancing here? Ooo look a kitty cat! And it is miniature sized not like the big kitties in the gypsy camp that we aren't supposed to pet, that is for sure!" ,says Tehya," Oh by the way, in case you didn't catch my name after I told it to the guards here, I am Tehya, Tehya Pinata, but my friends call me "Teh" for short and the Ringmaster calls me "Tehya the Dancing Loon" for long."
Tehya smiles big.
She stared down at the people as they gathered, and then to the clock to see if it was time to start the show.
"We still have a few more minutes," she said. Her voice was loud enough to be heard through the crowd of people downstairs, but still sweet and serene. "Please, make yourselves at home."
Kassandra walked over and leaned against the wall. She carefully placed her bag of healing herbs and foodstuffs beside her. She dropped her bag with her clothes to the ground.

Teyha runs in and starts dancing for joy in the midst of the crowd. Giving cheerful looks at all around and motioning here and there for people to join in her dancing.
((i know it's long, but it's important. I promise, i don't usually post this much.))
Crazed looked at the girl who danced in the middle of the floor. "Hmm..." she said, talking to herself, "I did hire some entertainment, but i suppose she will do fine as well. A few more minutes went by and she turned to one of the woman who stood beside her.
The other woman nodded silently, taking the small crown in her hand and placing it upon Crazed's head, adjusting it slightly before giving a small nod.
"Alright!" She looked out upon the people, mass crowds all around. "Welcome, all of you. Thank you for responding to my call. I am very glad that you all agreed to helping me, no matter your reason for doing so. I am the Empress Crazed Schinovia Loriwoitz Dozmorphia. You may call me Empress Craz for short, if that's too much of a mouthful for you." A sweet smile adorned her face, lightly giggling, "Even I have trouble saying my whole name sometimes."
"May I start to telling you all that, at any point, if you wish to leave, you may. Though we will not be able to pay you for your time. If you are hurt, your medical bills will be paid for, and you will be treated by the staff here at the castle. You will all be asked to sign a contract after my speech here. And once you do so, you will be considered official employees of Royal family of Romuf; as well as Dozmorphia Castle. And for those of you who managed to get here without looking at the invitation, you are currently IN Dozmorphia castle."
"I have been sent requests from all over the land, and to better hurry your journey, you will be split into groups based on your capabilities. Tomorrow morning, your group number, as well as your teammates, will be posted on your door."
"As for tonight, you will be staying with me, here in my castle. Tomorrow, you will take time to get to know your team. The following day, i will hand your group your first requested journey. You are expected to prepare yourself for the journey, and all expenses will be paid by the castle... within reason. The day after, you will leave. If you come back unsuccessful on your first journey, you will automatically be asked to go home. An unsuccessful mission means that you fail to bring back the requested item, or the item is brought back in unfit conditions. I have made it so that the first request is the easiest. They will continue to get harder. Every time you come back to the castle, assuming you are successful, you will be given a week off before your next mission. Whether you spend it here at the castle or back at your home is completely up to you."
"If you manage to bring something back that brings me happiness, anything at all, you will be rewarded. You, as well as your entire team, will be given a choice of reward. I will take a request of any sort, as long as it is within my power to grant. If you ask for money as your reward, you will be given the amount of 40 million gil."
"If you have any questions, i ask that you come to me either tonight before I go for bed, or tomorrow. I will do my best to answer your question. My staff here will also be of service to you."
"But please, as of tonight, i ask that you think carefully. If you are prepared for this sort of decision, the contract is on the table in the next room to your left. Don't crowd, and wait your turn. Afterwards, you may proceed to the room on your right, were we will be serving dinner. Once again I thank all of you for coming."
She bowed slightly, her staff bowing as well before they all proceeded to the door on the right, going right to dinner. A man dressed in a black uniform appeared, standing next to the door on the left.
"If everyone would please line up, the contract is over here."
