Story:
In a far off land, there lives an empress. Ever since she was a child, she was promised the land of Romuf; and therefore, lived her life in elegance. But the young empress found herself unhappy, and constantly in search of something to make her feel happier. She quickly found that what she was searching for was not in her castle. The empress called to her people and asked them to give her suggestions as to what the thing missing her her life could be. Also, she sent out a mass advertisement, asking for the best warriors in the land to gather at her castle. The pamphlet read:
To all who love their country dearly, I address you in this time of need. Whether you wield a sword, a staff, or nothing at all; I ask that you come to my castle. You will face exciting and, possibly, grave adventures. If you manage to find the source of my happiness, then you shall be rewarded greatly. Please submit a resume first, so that we at the castle may assess you. You will receive an invitation if you are seen as qualified. Thank you very much.

Short background: Born into the royal family, was promised to rule the land since she was an only child. Her mother died when she was young and her father passed away from "illness" 2 years ago. Puts on the facade of a Kind and Generous leader for her people, but is actually quite sadistic. Seeing the other people of her kingdom so happy, she started wondering what was missing in her life, and began the quest for her happiness. Has a strange obsession with hugs.

Short background: Her parents were healers so Kassandra was raised to be a healer. She was always going around and healing the local injured animals... and then cuddling them, often to their dismay. Her true passion was cooking though, she could make the most elaborate meals out of the simplest ingredients. When she heard that her Empress was unhappy, she wanted to help in any way possible.

Type of Fighter: Versitile (Mage/Dragoon-like)
Abilities: (currently limited to these) Some quoted from wiki...
Transformation: — Fate transforms Bardiche into Device Form and her Barrier Jacket is activated as well. (This is basically the transition form my day-to-day look to combat form)
Blitz Rush: — This greatly increases the movement speed of Fate or any of her ranged attacks (must be already fired) for a short period of time.
Sonic Move: — Fate usually uses this to get around and behind her opponents almost like a teleport. Cannot be used repeatedly.
Defenser: — Bardiche's Auto-Guard magic. It can guard in every direction, but can be broken easily.
Round Shield: — A manual guard skill that is stronger than Defenser, but can only be used in one direction. This is the only skill that can be used without Bardiche activated.
Lightning Bind — A powerful, but difficult to maintain, spell that prevents its target from moving.
Arcus Cultus Aegeas — This is Fate's personal incantation for Bardiche. Generally she uses this to concentrate her energies, especially before unleashing a powerful attack
Bind Break: — Attempts to deactivate a binding or imprisoning spell. The amount of time required to deactivate depends on the complexity of the target magic.
Arc Saber: — Used when Bardiche is in Scythe mode. The blade of the Scythe is thrown and acts as a homing projectile that explodes when it hits the target. The blade is made up of magical energy and can be restored.
Scythe Slash: — (Bardiche must be in Scythe mode) A melee attack that is concentrated on breaking through Barriers, but can also be deadly if an individual is cut with it.
Photon Lancer: — Fate's basic ranged attack, fired from a small collection of energy called a "Photon Sphere". These shots are fast but unguided.
Photon Lancer Phalanx Shift: — (Bardiche must be in Device mode) A variation of Photon Lancer, this spell amasses several large Photon Spheres and unleashes a storm of Photon Lancer shots on the target. This is a very powerful attack that requires great concentration.
The attack continues for 4 seconds, with volleys of 38 shots 7x per second, resulting in a total of 1064 shots striking the target.
Thunder Smasher: A seige-type attack that is useful against large targets. It fires a concentrated beam with the element of thunder.
Thunder Rage: (Bardiche must be in Sealing mode) A multi-target attack that shoots large bolts of lightning. Used mainly for sealing powerful magical items, but can be used against opponents.
Note: Fate is capable of flying when in combat form.
Reason they wish to help the Empress: Trying to make a living in this new and strange world.
Short background: An accedent from her homeworld has her transported to this strange alternate dimension. The Journey has also damaged her Linker Core so that she is limited to the basic forms of her magic (as stated above). Now she is simply trying to make a living and wait until her Linker Core recovers enough to take a shot at getting back. (totally made up)

Short background: Coming from a military background Ryuzaki (or just Ryu) was taught how to wield weapons and magic from an early age, his family were famous for adapting a way of fighting with weapons and magic with equal skill and were known as Battle Mages or 'Red' Mages. Ryuzaki chose to wield a gun and trained in providing backup support to others turning him into a field medic/sniper/offensive mage. However his family is no more, annihilated by a rival clan. So now Ryu wanders the lands, a gun for hire, master of his own destiny. His abilities make him a welcome and versatile addition to any party however his abilities will never be as good as those who specialise in a single aspect of combat.

Short background: Teh was born and raised in a traveling gypsy group and, well, that is pretty much it. She saw a flyer asking for help and thought that it would be a better gig than the shows seeing as their turn out consisted of basically no one at all last show and she really wants someone to see her dance.

Short background: her clan was attacked when she was 9. she's the sole survivor, for she was throwing a tantrum and left the village for two days. she now seeks the demon that slaughtered her race to get revenge and sees the empress journey as a chance to find it. she's friendly and easy going though. having lost her mentors, most of her abilities remain unknown even to her. when provoked she has bursts of energy that end up in tragedies, which is why she tries to stay as calm as possible
