Yup, but I know a lot of people who like FFX just as much, but mostly because they haven't played FF7 yet

well im a long time final fantasy player and have finished them all 100% and Final Fantasy 7 is the best by far...the story line rox it all and its got the Ultimate character.... Sephiroth

i second (or would it be third..) the opinion. ff7 is the best. i can only hope square makes a game that outdoes it, but if not... no biggie. ff7 is eternal.

i agree, final fantasy VII was and still is the best game ive ever played, and i own alot of consoles including all the current gen ones, and hoping to get a psp for the release of final fantasy VII:advent children
for those who dont know what that is, its the final fantasy VII movie that will be released on the PSP

I had to vote for VII, it decimates every other final fantasy game in just about every way. The closest to it is X, but the thing that knocked it down for me was it was way too easy and linear. It just felt like X was telling you what to do every step of the way. And there was no real reason to go and get everyone's Ultimate weapons and all the extras because the only person you really had left to fight at the end was Sin. In VII you had the two weapons that were next to impossible.
I just finished VIII and it was a great game that I'd play again, but I didn't necessarily like the draw system.
On another note I have 2 copies of VII. One is the copy I've had since it came out and the second is a still new sealed copy that I've kept in case my other craps out. I was thinking about hosting a contest somewhere and giving it away for diehard Final Fantasy fans that most likely havent played it or had it but can't find it anymore.

I dont thing so, ff7 is a grat game, but dont is the better, my faborite is the 8 and i thing in this how the best game of the all times,in the all aspect,but cloud in a female drees is very funny i like the humor of ff7(and the arms of popeye jajajajaj)

most posibly, this is what i REALLY think:
Maybe later on games will come with not just graphics but game sistems that will be 1000 times more fun than playing FF7 for the first time, but FF7 was the greatest hit (game) in history, it was the best mostwellcrafted game ever, much work and love put into it and the game turned out even BETTER, but even when such games come that are more fun and with better graphics, FF7 will have always stood out has the FIRST and best hit in the begining of gaming history, with even being the begining it was a shock that crumbled our bases, (even so, im not able to put it into words)
It was so great for its era that i dont think any game will have so much potential anytime soon, the reason is simple, it was perfected [by the expertice and hard work, and surely love put into it]. (even thought i can say more those last words seem just to fit)
The only games i can see having such potential would be an extremelly well made Disgaea(rpg), or a new wellmade and managed morpg (yhea but that is diferent lvls anyway)
ofcourse FF could make another series with so much potential but it'd be rather hard to forsee. ^^

ive gota disagree there, ff8 is the only ff i havn't bothered to finish. i hate the junction system, i hate the way magic is drawn and not learnt, i hate the way that you have to find different items to get your weapons upgraded. the only reason i pulled through to the 3rd disc was because they story was good enough to convince me to carry on playing.

ff7 was fine, but definitely not the best, and ffx sure as hell isnt the best, but i like ff8 the best.
