Here are a couple of simple tips that will make Final Fantasy XII a lot easier when it comes to defeating enemies. In order for the first tip to work you would have to obtain the following gambit and spell later on in the game:

Arcane Magick: Berserk
Gambit: Ally: Basch

Of course you may use whichever Ally Gambit member you like, in this example I have used Basch. In the following screenshot you will see that I have assigned a Gambit to Fran that always casts Berserk on Basch:

You really only need two melee users who are always attacking, and a healer so you would not miss being able to control one user especially when his stats are nearly doubled during the Berserk spell.

With Berserk you can kill most enemies with only one hit that used to give you trouble in the past. This method works nicely against bosses as well.

Quicker Leveling

While fighting within a party, even though you appreciate the extra help, the EXP you earn from defeating an enemy is evenly distributed between your party members. So the more members who are in your party, the less experience you will earn. You may feel lonely fighting alone, so you can always rely on summoning an Esper to give you a hand with fighting and gaining levels quickly.

Once you have obtained an Esper, you can summon it against enemies and obtain a lot more experience points than fighting with a team. If you are using this method to power level, you may want to use the Dismiss option on your Esper before the remaining summon time runs out since viewing its finishing move over and over gets old after a while.

Hopefully these tips will help you greatly throughout the game. Happy hunting!
