I think there's a theory on Final Fantasy games remake.
On and off, SE will remake some of the old FF games. If you already notice, FF1 to 6 including Tactics have been remade so i guess it is inevitable. LOL. It's true that they might ruin the original, SE is most likely will anyway.

i mean it wouldn't be trouble for them to do a remake for next gen...all i have seen is that demo for FF VII...but yes....ohh well....we can only play the waiting game....but i highly doubt it

That was just a demonstration of the PS3's capibilities. Square announced themselves that there are no current plans for a remake of VII after the demo for the PS3 caused a huge uproar.
