NO im jk jk.
thrash is basicly just fast riffs with a sing-scream vocal style.
metalcore is a mix of the screams and fast generally easy guitar parts of hardcore, with the intensity of metal.
death metal is a mix of low growling gutteral vocals, insan bass mixed with fast drums and techincal guitar parts.
black metal has fast high pitched guitar parts, generally sounding a bit evil, mixed with high pitched screams.

bah who cares about slipknot XD
there are three bands i cant stand..Korn, Slipknot and Soulfy...i would sooner listen to grindcore than to any of those lol (and i really dont like grindcore)

ya slipknot is sort of thrash combined nu metal
in flames is melodic death metal
and all that remainsd is metal core
and shandris, you forgot about industrial, sludge, stoner, folk, glam, gothic, groove, viking, alternative metal, christian, dark, and extreme metal.

there are so many genres not listed, like reggae (as shandy put) and speedcore, noisecore, jungle and classical etc.
i have no particular liking, like as much techno as i do metal or speedcore/hardcore techno.
having a wide range allows for more joy to be found in music, there are great works in all genres, cant beat a healthy mixture of classical music, metal, * or reggae, the list goes on. (hate when people on sites like youtube have a go at entire genres of music, is pathetic)

by gho at entire genres do you mean all the metal heads attacking emo and nu-metal?
edit: the word speedcore makes me laugh
