Anytime I hear this song I can't help but shed a tear (provided nobody's around XD) cuz it gets me thinking about the whole storyline; the relationship with between Squall and Rinoa, Laguna and Julia, etc.
Anyway, that being said, I've showed this song to two of my friends, neither of which have ever played an FF game. And their reaction to this was "....well it's an ok song..."
So that got me to thinking just how vital this song was to the game; the emotional depth of the lyrics, and how much it goes beyond just being a theme song.
Anybody who's never played the game would never know Julia composed it as a way of telling Laguna she noticed him listening to her so many times, to tell him he wasn't the only one sneaking a glance, and as a simple thanks to Laguna for just being there.
Not only that, but they managed to seamlessly incorporate this into Squall and Rinoa's relationship as well, perhaps as Rinoa's way of telling Squall he's not alone in the world.
I could go on about it, but I'm sleepy D=
So is there any special way anybody else related this song to the game?

Good call man, It is a gorgeous song.
Everytime i hear it, it just reminds me of how much fun and how relaxing the game was. And how my fiance and I camped in front of the t.v for a week playing it together.. wow, way to make me emotional haha..
That was my first FF, so thats a massive milestone..

Although I think I'd still prefer Faye's version, I guess just because I can imagine Julia or possible Rinoa singing with that voice.
But is was nice.

I will spruik this as much as possible today, but get Voices. its a dvd with a whole bunch of FF songs on it performed by the tokyo orchestra (That song above is from that performance.) and Nubeo Uematsu Hosts and plays some of the songs (He wrote them all ) Have a look on ebay for it. do it. its in japanese with no subs but it still rocks hard.

I think I actually like Angela Aki's version better XD Because I didnt really care for it in the game for whatever reason...I wish I knew wth she was saying after the song though...cuz all I got was Thank you very much. Goodevening and thats as far as my japanese language skills go XD
i dunno what she's saying, but during the concert Nubeo must tell a joke or something, coz everyone pisses themselves laughing for like five minutes haha

if you like angela aki singing this, listen to 'Kiss me goodbye' from the 12 soundtrack. She sings it in the same concert as 'Eyes on me' as well..
