Do you like servers with a ton of players? 32/32 etc.
I never liked online games that had tons of users on a small map. I know that certain games like UT2K4 and MMORPG games are fine, however games like Quake and Counterstrike with 32+ people in one small map is not fun at all. Everyone just shoots everywhere, and it sucks when you turn the corner and see 20 enemies camping and shooting at you at once. So everyone just sits and runs out the whole clock waiting for someone to come around the corner and spam. Does this bother you too?

heh, well I probably don't like it because I notice that I am always the first on my team to run out ahead of everyone since camping is boring, so usually when I do that I have go up against 20 players at once. Most of it is spam too, however I love a 3 on 3 or 4 on 4 match.

i know what you mean..
and i do the same thing, i run out ahead of the group and see how many i can take out with the shotgun.
on the other hand, i dont play Counterstrike anymore as it bores the HELL out of me. too many parts of the game that are just no fun. it seems they take realizm way too far over entertainment.
for example. you cannot move while you are being hit by bullets. which means if your hit once. your probably going to die as you cant escape.
another example is headshots. they come way too often. it turns the game into an instagib game. where only the elete win because they have so much free time to practice headshots.
there are some games where massive battles ARE better than small battles.
those games are:
Halo (the maps are small so an 8v8 seems large, plus halo 3 should support up to 50 people)
Battlefield 2
UT2k4
but in my oppinion the best FPS to successfuly make the largest battle fun has to be Planetside. its like hooking up 8 full games of UT2k4 together and watching what happens.

The worst and only complaint I have with CS is those awpers and auto snipers... why they put those guns in the game I will never know. They cater campers, all they have to do is hide in a corner and take out anyone who takes a peek out of a corner. They ruin the whole game and I always leave the server when there are 2 or more snipers. Actually I felt that nothing being able to move when you get hit with bullets is realistic, in real life if you are getting hit you cannot drop double jumps out of the way like most FPS games  When you are getting hit you slow down in CS because of the pain.

It does depend on the game, the speed of your computer, and your internet connexion. If you're on dial-up or have a slow computer, less people are ALWAYS better (minimum of 4 total players though).
But if you're good in both computer and internet speed, then usually a full server isn't good. Most games weren't planned to have so many people. I must say, that it does get to be fun at times though.
Battlefront was a good game to have a lot of people in though. It wasn't the best game, but having more real people was a lot better than a server with only a few people because the maps were made for a lot of people & if there aren't enough people to fill up the space necessary, computer players take their place.

Yes if the game has a large map then it is fun, however I am referring to the maps like dust 1 and dust 2 in CS where the map has about 10 people in every room spraying bullets everywhere and you getting hit with shots that weren't even aimed at you.

Lol, as far as classic CS goes, I loved when that happens and I can buy the gatling gun thingy with loads of bullets and just spray death all around you.

Well I only play RTS games that use online feature so any server with tons of users is a must because you need to get a game going with someone, and you can always set how many people play in a game.

Yes Goldeneye is by far one of the best games ever next to FFVII. However I like online FPS because my friend in real life used to play and when I moved to another city I was still able to get online and play against or with him and that was always fun. Ever since then I just continued playing. Plus I have always been a competetive athlete so I like online FPS games just to see how well I do against other people on a game that is based on stradegy and reflexes.
