Do you feel pro athletes are overpaid?
I am not sure how it is like over in other countries but in the US it is amazing how players who never win or make it past the playoffs are signing $100 million contracts. I play basketball for fun and exercise which I do for free so for someone to pay be tons of millions of dollars for something I love is crazy. Plus the only thing they do with that money is buy fancy cars, jewelry, and houses. I couldn't watch other people suffer and the world being destroyed while I have $100 million in the bank.

i do think there overpaid!
i mean, andriy Schevchenko here gets £125,000 A WEEK and hes about 35, thats quarter a million dollars!
i hate that tiger woods makes a par and gets ten grand,
i make a hole in one and it costs me a fortune!

In reality the only explanation I can think of is that it no longer matters if they win or lose, the fact they look "hot" to the public and sell tickets from people who only care about looks is the reason for their insanely high paycheck. I still think that players with a recent criminal history shouldn't be allowed to play. Not even regular jobs hire people with felonies. That is like me going to a prison and selecting the fastest runner and paying him a ton of money to play for 3- 4 hours a few times per week.

Exactly not to mention because of that schools treat sports like they're the only important thing because its the job that pays the most (Not that I'm saying fitness isn't important but its equally important as a strong mind) and everything else suffers.

I doubt Tiger is the one to be bagging on, that's the one sport where you must perform week in and week out to make money. The reason he's the richest athlete in America is because of his exposure, personality and thus his likability.
Since I'll be a Division 1 Athlete and I MAY get a huge contract are you all going to hate me?

I'd say most professional players get way too much in payment for what they actually do - yes, many sports are about money these days but paying millions and millions of money to one single man is just strange...

yeah, and jail is obviously the wrong way to look...
they all been caught anyway, so you need to look for the ones still running lose XD
but yeah, they get overpaid, i mean, soccer players are in europe probably the best paid atheletes and it's insane how they get paid that much without actually doing anything...
then the milions they get when another group buys them 
it's madness
i realy hate soccer btw, just because those baboons get paid more as a working person from falling on the floor when they feel a touch...
just to get the other guy down, it's stupid...

I do believe that athletes get paid an immorally high sum, but look what they provide. Its more of an escape for people than almost anything, and it binds people together (along with making some very strong chasms). So it really is a double-edged sword. And also an athlete's carrier has no protection whatsoever, as it can last twenty years to two months depending on injuries and capabilities. For football (as in the American term) the medical effects can be life long and devastating. Do I believe that they deserve the enormous sums because of the life long trauma they have to endure in order for us to get to escape for a while; maybe.

what about college football? youll see more going on in any college footbal game than a pro one, and the reason is because they are giving everything they have daily. pro footbal is everyone running around on tippitoes playing flag football. and seriously, i played better games in my back yard.
but i suppose for college footbal to be entertaining they need the hope of becoming pro... so both must exist.
and golf is crazy, anyone who can par and birdie and eagle on command, you deserve the winnings. they dont have a salary like other sports its based on how you do, the way it should be. they get sponsorships and stuff but thats nothing compaired to tournament winnings.
