He woke up on another day, remember he was injured after the 'super fall' back in Eshtar border? Well, he was washed to the Windhill and nursed by Raine (Ellone was by her side). Slowly Laguna cured and in that process Ellone was his companion, they played together and spend some 'quality' time together lol.

Well... I think he had his own reasons but... He just sent both of Ellone and Squall to Edea, knowing they were his only family, I think he overdid it a bit
