The orphanage kids got their names from Edea (Matron),Squall which means 'Gust of slighty strong ice wind' resembles his cold and anti-social characteristics. The lionheart gotta ask Matron herself lol,in my opinion she named him Lionheart cause he's brave like a lion. I hav no idea where Ellone came from,she may be a true orphan adopted by Raine,cause according to the story in Windmill,Ellone's parents got killed. So,Squall is not an orphan afterall,his dad Laguna is still alive.
No, I mean, when he changes his name to Leon, because he's called Leon in Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts 2, and I've heard he changes his name from Squall to Leon somewhere in the game or something. When does that happen?
yes cause ellone is his sister right? so if ellone is his sister and she is raine's daughter i think squall is raine's son and laguna's son =) and thats why he always remember laguna =)
its pretty simple...it is actually SAID that Laguna is Squalls father....when you got to Esthar and take on Ragnarok Laguna, Kiros and Ward...if you go and talk to them they tell it...
as to Elone....well i never noticed that Laguna actually adopted Ellone but well he did take care of her all the time...so it might be...so this basically makes Squall and Elone siblings..though not by blood
