well the problem with your thing stap, the thing you have spoilered so i wont mention it again is:
Hidden:
the size of the craft pretty much stopped us from trying to take it apart. we dont have anything near the equivilant so theres no way to keep it in the sky if we somehow break it. the fact that its floating is a huge problem. once the ppl cut into the ship the power was already off, and with no way to safely bring the craft to the ground, dismantling blindly wouldnt really be an option considering if we did something wrong, it would fall out of the sky and destroy the slums and most of the surrounding city i would imagine.
do you think as a country or world that we'd approach something so technologically advanced with any kind of malice, we'd have no idea what kind of weaponry they possessed, if their were others of their kind still on board, etc etc. but i will say one thing, i want me one of those damn mech suits!

well ive wanted a mech suit since i knew they existed, but i must say, it was pretty classy. not the super shiny over done ones you see in old cartoon and stuff from armored core or anything. gritty and straight up awesome.
though i kind of looked like when the suit got busted up, it physically hurt him too. like neural connections were made once he got in the suit or something... which would suck.
anyway. this is a short film by the same director and it was pretty much district 9 beta. you can see a lot of similarities of course the full length movie had more special effects (namely the aliens)
kinda of a shame i didnt post the video before i announced the spoiler break since it doesnt really ruin anything at all plus it gives you a feeling for how the real movie is filmed, at least in the first half hour or so. oh well lol.
I laughed at my friend when we went' and seen the film when he looked over at me and said, "ya know, if they can do this, why can't they do halo?"
then i had to explain to him that the guys responsible for this film were the ones who were destined to create the halo movie, before the corporate types pulled the plug on the project,
Which is why the movie was good without any Americans in it. As movie history tells us that they would have no doubt nuked the thing, killing all of Joburgs residents, but still saying "Good job fox 2" as they flew away.
I've seen ID4 a couple of times but I didn't get any urges or reminders about it from D9, except for that show, yeah. It felt a lot like Mass Effect in a way.
havent gotten to mass effect yet sadly, but i heard good things.
and yeah. your fox 2 joke cracked me up for a good 2 min there.
and yeah, im so glad they set it outside the usa as well. also, its just more realistic. aliens wouldnt give to * about a city or anything, and give then fact that like 75% of the earth is water, in many ways if a space ship just slowly came to a halt like in the movie, it would happen over water, or somewhere in asia lol.
kinda wish aliens would show up and be like "daaaamn, so glad we werent malnourished when we showed up."
we could all laugh together as they sold us their awesome alien technology for catfood. it would be magical times.
Being set away from the usa was good for me for 2 reasons. 1. There is always some patriotic garble about saving americans and this great country and waving the us flag...We need an earth flag (see futurama) and 2. I think every US landmark has been attacked by aliens now...lol
Would we be able to get some rating system thing on this website..Say to rate games or movies? Maybe similar to gamespots reader scoreboard or imdb's viewer star rating thing. To add to a thread or something.
Just a thought.
that would be cool, but then we'd need a page for everything we every review, and that takes up a lot of space.
although at that point anyone could write up a review for anyone else to see. kind of a cool idea. we'd need to limit those with reviewing power to like a certain amount of karma or posts or whatever, just so we dont get like... horrid reviews lol.

that or the impact on the shell hurt him a hell of a lot ^^
Though seriously if Im out walking around in the night to ASDA with the pedo/rapist/murderer/psycho of questionable sanity vampy....who do I have to be afraid of? XD

I gave it the same rating... although I split it and say the first half was a 6 and the second half an 8... I was worried in the beginning that it was just another social commentary on thinly disguised existing conditions, but once the actual story got started after the setup it was soo interesting on so many levels.
I forgot who said it earlier about the plot holes but yeah... if I had that alien gun and that suit believe me I wouldn't hesitate to take out that bald meany guy lol
