Man, I used to be a huge fan. I used to play digimon all the time with my friends. We would play for hours and hours. Good times. I can still remember the fun lol.

I watched the first season religeously but one watched maybe 2 other episodes out of all the other seasons. That first season was so damn epic. I loved it back then and I'd probably watch it again if I got the chance lol.

i used to have digimon 1 and 2 for the ps1...they were cool as...i never got bored

Wrong. It unfortunately came a few weeks after Pokemon so a lot of people were obsessing over Pokemon too much to bother with it.
The first series was okay, but it wasn't good. The second series was worse and then I watched the first couple of episodes from the third series and gave up with it.

A worthy adversary? You make it sound like Digimon beat it. As much as I liked the first series of Digimon the first series of Pokemon was way better.

Digimon came out months after Pokemon came out. Maybe even years. At least, in my country.
The first season was by far the best series, and personally, much better than Pokemon by far - Pokemon just sound way too weird for me to be honest. Digimon had an actual background story. Let's not forget that Pokemon was based off a game, and most of it's Episodes are considered FILLER. Digimon had an actual track, direction and storyline. Pokemon just felt like it continued on and on with all the stupidest short-stories when all we wanted to see was some Gym fights. Not to mention that not being able to have the silent protagonist, they turned "Red" into the screaming bafoon called Ash "Ketchum" and for SOME unknown reason, TWO, not one, TWO Gym Leaders decided to go along with them and leave their "Gym" completely abandoned. Their reasons weren't even decent.
I will agree that it gets worse after the first Season, but itself was not bad at all - actually the amount of people who love Digimon prove that it was actually a successful "invention" and I would watch it again anytime, given the possiblity.
I only own Digimon World and Digimon 2003 (or something along those lines) for the Playstation. I aced the first, but I never got near the end in Digimon 2003.
