That was what I loved about FFVII, how you could completely customize each characther exactly how you wanted. Some of my friends in real life at the time didn't like it, but I loved it
It's a very good system; I really liked it. FFVIII's Junction system also allowed you to customize characters however you pleased. It just took some more time.
Yeah but the thing I hated about FFVIII's junction is how the magic was based on how many items you had, so whenever you used an item you lowered your stats a little which made me not want to use any of the powerful spells that I struggled to grab off of a tough enemy. Plus that junction sound effect was very annoying. I am sorry but I do not see how any FF fan can like FF8, the game was missing all of the qualities that every other FF game had.
I so agree with you about FFVIII, but hating the Junction system shouldn't be a reason to hate it. It was dissapointing, especially the storyline and Ultimicia is only introduced at the end. But, I recently replayed FFVIII and it's not a half-bad game if you dont compare it to greats such as FFVII.
Yeah that is true, it is a lot better replaying it on the PS2 because the anti aliasing cuts down on most of the jaggies and the maps load faster. The only reason I didnt like it was because I was expecting it to be better then FFVII, the day it was released I raced to the store, bought it, then went to work. I even raced home on my lunchbreak just to see the intro, then when I got home from work late at night I played it even though I had homework to do. The reason I played through the whole game was because I was waiting for it to pull me in like FFVII did. The scene when the SeeD went on their first mission I thought the game was really going to pick up, but it never did.
The one thing about the game was that I didn't feel important, all of the other FF games you had to save the whole world in the beginning of the game, the intro for FFVIII was a long tutorial and side quest imo, by the time there was some danger introduced in the game I was already bored. I also couldn't relate to Squall, he was a very boring person who didnt know how to talk to anyone. I am just the opposite so I couldn't imagine myself in his place since he said and did things that I wouldn't do.
now im going to disagree...cant you see squaresoft made a very good character here...Squall is how do you put it in word....different from other characters of every final fantasy..let see ok......cloud...he's a little bit quite but he cares to people around him...zidane....cheerful and always makes people feel happy and he cares to people around him alot.....ok then tidus.....just like zidane cheerful, funny and also cares alot to his comrade especially girls comrade....well as you can see squall is different...why????he doesnt care but his caring made alot of impact when he start to like rinoa...and one more thing.....his scar...he's the only one that have scar that make him special....it's his signature...everyone knows that...

We didn't say Squall was a bad character, we just said that FFVIII's storyline was pretty bad. Squall is actually a good character IMO, but I think the game concentrated too much on Squall's character developement and didn't concentrate enough on the plot.
MY message is for FuNEnD3R....cause he said he can't relate to squall because he is a boring character...and i said i disagree and blah blah blahh...is there something wrong about it...if you want we can debate....
Everyone has their own opinion and I respect them all. There are people who say that the whole FF franchise sucks, if they feel that way so be it I will keep enjoying it.
[quote="BetaSquadron"]Sorry, I didn't catch that part in Funenders post. What's there to debate about, anyway?[/quote
well actually nothing its just that you actually made your point.....and thats make you a pro in this kind of things...and im sure your good in debating and i hope someday we can find something to debate on......thanks...]
IMO spamming is when someone is flooding the forums with duplicate and worthless posts all at once (which is also called flooding) and spamming is also adverting on the forums. Any opinion that you share on the forums is not considered flooding to me.
Thanks, that is why I created this site since I hate power hungry admins and mods who act like they own the world and never grant simple requests that are so easy to do. For example today I submitted one of my scripts to a site and one of the text fields where you enter the url for your script had a maxlength of text limited to 50. Urls are usually a lot longer then 50 characters so I contacted the admin and kindly asked him to extend the url count.
I know for a fact that this takes no more then 5 seconds to do, and yet he said that he rather not extend the text field. I mean something like that is so simple, it wouldnt pose as a disadvantage to him or anyone else, and yet he wouldnt do it. Things like that annoy me and I created this site so others wouldnt have to put up with stupid things like that
