The whole Tales series has used the same battle system since Tales of Phantasia on the SNES. I do love that battle system though. It made the battles so much fun.

only thing i hate is in star ocean if you run out of MP you die >_> <_< its a great gaem ,with alrightvoiceovers (themusic blocks them out usually lol).

well i kidna understand it, if your power is gone then your useless but its still gay >_> <_<
plus the area im in is like makes you not able to leave and i cant get MP or HP healing items...

no my lvl can take him out, the person im trouble fighting, but I cant alwasy rely on healing and I only have a couple of ressurection things, and he does maor MP damgae, plus you have to fight 2 other monsters before him. >_>
like the final fight in FF12 sept lot easier in FF12 lol.

yeah, Tales has been using the same system ever since Tales of Phantasia. I've played every tales series ever since. But the battle is much more smooth now. I guess you're (Cecil) a big fan of the Tales series too..hahah high5!
About starocean, i played the first one on the SNES...the battlesystem is quite fresh at that time...too bad i never complete it...i got stuck somewhere, i think~! hahaha

I'm enjoying this game, for me its another great creation of FF game. The battle system was great, haven't finished the game so can't comment on the storyline yet. Graphics? Pretty cool, just that I'm expecting more thats all. The only thing I find funny abt the battle system is the License theory, where one need a License to use skills, equip stuffs, etc. Its a bit unlogical but ah whatever. But it makes sense monsters don't drop gils, do monsters really drop gils lol? Selling stuffs from monsters leftovers to make money surely makes sense to me (just like in online game).
And I agree about the Tales there ^^, I enjoyed Tales series' storyline and battle system. Its somehow differ from Real Time Battle system but the difference is just that you're taken to a separate screen when encounter a monster on the field.

if it wasnt for the battle system, i dont think id have much time for ff12, the system is what saves it for me. the days of wondering about, trying to get somewhere, only to have the screen stop and that bloody battle music come on used to send shivers down my spine, finally the game now flows so much better (just a pity the storyline doesnt really have the traditional final fantasy basis.)

Better not ruining my play by asking hows the storyline (curious after you said its not fantasy basis). But somehow I felt FFXII's worldmap and races do look similar to FFTA...they have Ivalice, Bangaa, Viera, humans, and Montblanc as the guild leader...too similar.
