Desert Palace / Candle light question

Having trouble, made the staircase of light appear at the end of the dungeon but when I run to the top it won't give me the ! to light the final candle and fight the boss. Little help?

-edit-
Never mind, just missed a candle and had to back up a few rooms and light it.

That happened to me the first time I did that, as well. Annoying, isn't it? Laughing

ugh, I'm having a crashing issue, and had to go through that thing like 6 times.

I now know how to fix it, but my data has been corrupted, so I'm stuck with a backup from before I entered Kuja's palace. So I have to refight Ark, and tons of other BS.

On the plus side though, I know that puzzle like the back of my hand now. Rolling Eyes

Yeah walkthroughs are good

I know this is ff9 forum but when i got ff13 i got the guide as well but it was'nt until my second playthrough that i used it

So the best thing to do with guides is use them AFTER you finish a game

The request was actually for my buddy who's borrowing my copy of FFIX which is why he got stuck. I personally would not have made such a novice mistake king

He was using a walkthrough too Laughing

Once he's done with it, if I ever get to play video games ever again (girlfriend), I just got on disc 2 of FFVIII so I need to finish that game first and I was in the middle of IX when I let him borrow it... blech... I miss my vids...

Or if you're completely stuck and haven't a clue how to get past the point you've reached. That's also an exception, providing that the person using the guide has tried their hardest at it.

Yep i definitely agree with you on that one but nothing beats the feeling you get from solving it yourself

I've had to depend on some guides when I put down a game for a few months. That's always the worst, when you pick it back up and can't remember at all where you are or what you are supposed to be doing / where you are supposed to be going.

But I definitely used the guide for FFXII the first time I played it through, but I 100%'ed the game on my first run through so it was very beneficial.

meh i dont see the point of a game if you are getting told every turn you make
not getting to explore
solve things yourself, at least the first time through just seems like its taking away from the game
kinda like how people are proud of finishing a game with an invincibility cheat, which pretty much means you walk throuhg the game pointlessly have no chaklllenge and need no skill, makes it pointless to be playing
