If you live in the United States, you've more than likely seen those anti-depressant commercials, you know, the ones that ask you all these things about depression hurting.
"Where does depression hurt? Everywhere."
"How does depression hurt? Every way."
"Who does depression hurt? EVERYONE."
I'm here to tell you that those commercials are true. I was diagnosed with Clinical Depression at the age of ten. I've been battling it every day since. I've attempted to take my own life several times. Obviously i've failed. I've been through dark times, and I've wanted to die.
If you know anyone with Depression, you know how hard it is for them. You might not know how hard it is for them to even wake up in the morning, but you know how hard their day is.
I started this because I am currently battling these thoughts. I keep thinking of death, and how i can do it myself. I don't want to die, but i don't want to live. I don't want to hold anybody back from what they can do if i wasn't around. I need someone here to talk to me. please.
EEEEMMMOOOOOOOOO! (meant as a mood lightening joke btw XD)
We all know someone who suffers from depression, or ourselves, most of us here have thought of killing ourselves if not attempted it ...cough....
so you arent alone.
death does seem like an easy way out, but it is also a very selfish way out, people would care if you where dead, especially in that way and you would lead them to be hurt and depressed also
so dont effin do that , ever, cos its stupid, it is , im sorry , dont be a retard XD
You just have to think of the things that keep you going, be it playing games to take your mind off of things, spending time with family, talking to random boys name of scott >.>
I find if your gonna be depressed for a whie
you should give yourself at least one thing to look forward to
as little as it may be
a weekly show you like
a special meal with friends
meeting up with a loved one
a fantastic afternoon of masterbation when the kids and husband are out of the house
you know
whatever floats your boat
what you dont want to do
ids be alone all day thinkign about everything, doing nothing or justt laying in bed or sleeping all day, do somethign productive, ittl make you feel better.
talk about your problems if it helps.
anyway i didnt know what to put here, since i was talkign to yuo about a specific thing on msn, and it isnt what this topic mentioned but it may have been the cause to post it, but anyway here you go enjoy ^^
remember
afternoon of masterbation ^^
what?
its science-.-
it makes you feel better -.-

I just say hello at all times but that’s because I’m forgetful and forget what time it is. …and day. …and sometimes the month. I’m always confused at what year it is.

I read something in the newspaper the other day about how a link between depression and sitting on computers has been found. I mean I already knew there would be one because I see it a lot with people I know and even myself. (Not sure if this has anything to do with this thread but it just reminded me.)
My problem was that I worried too much about what others thought, and acted as if it was a big deal all the time every time I talked to people. Somehow you just have to let go and realise that whatever it is that's making you depressed isn't worth the time you're giving it.
Like Arc said maybe take a time off of whatever it is you normally do and do something that someone has wanted you to do, or what you wanted to do, or something just different. It might change your perspective on things. Or ask proper depression help.

I've battled with depression most of my life. the only thing that really keeps me going is knowing i can do something to help someone else. whether it be offering a kind word, a helping hand, an opinion, whatever.

Selfish =/= Stupid
That aside...
All I can tell you is to live. No matter what it takes to make you feel truly alive.

I suffer from depression. It's one of the few things I can accuse for my hatred of humanity, rather than having to tell people that I am evil and want to wipe out human-kind.

I imagine that would affect fat people more since they might break their computer by sitting on it.
"I don't think you're supposed to smoke during class."
"This isn't a cigarette. It's just a lollipop."
"Lollipops don't make any smoke."
"No, that's just 'cause it's so lollied."

Aside the from the supposed off-tone joke that Lord J made, maybe that is the root of your depression. You dislike what you look like to others. If that is the case you have to take it upon yourself to either love the way your are (which is very hard to do) OR change the way you are (which is also very hard to do). Either was taking your own life is the easiest thing you can do, because you have to only live it for that split second while everyone who cares for you (whether you know it or not), have to live with it for the rest of their lives. A lot of times it's your loved ones that get buried in guilt and become depressed themselves after the act. It's a vicious cycle...
And yes Anubis in this case it is selfish and it is also stupid.
The reasons, why you are clinically depressed (which is different from just regular depression that might only lasts a couple days) might be more than you think they are... You have to take that first step in changing your life.
Here are some things that might help lessen your depression
Quote:
* Develop a more healthful, balanced diet. This helps you keep moods balanced and overall health status strong.
* Get regular exercise. If you feel lethargic and tired, the last thing you may feel like doing is exercising. However, exercise has been shown to affect the same neurotransmitters in your brain that are involved in depression. Any regular exercise can help -- swimming, biking, walking.
* Get sufficient sleep. Cutting short on sleep can contribute to a downward spiral in other areas. If you are having trouble sleeping, consider your sleep habits. If you are sleeping too much, stick to a regular schedule and try to find activities or responsibilities that will get you out of bed in the morning. Students can talk with a health educator about making changes in sleep patterns.
* Develop stress skills and time management skills. These will be helpful in surviving college and keeping yourself from feeling overwhelmed. There are many good self-help books on stress management in the Tang Self-Care Resource Center. Students also can meet with a health educator to discuss their particular situation and stressors.
* Pay attention to your feelings. Learn to be aware of your feelings and not let them build up to the point where they overwhelm you, bring you down, and cause even bigger problems in your life.
* Develop and use a support system. Talking to people you trust can give new perspectives and support. Let your family and friends know if you just need them to listen, if you just want to vent, or if you just need a hug. Let them know that you don't need them to "fix" the problem or "make it all better."

And you expected me to know that without you telling me? I was making fun of the fact that Stappy said "on" and not "at". That's why I put the word "on" in italics in the quote.
The study is quite stupid for the reason Lucky mentioned.
"I don't think you're supposed to smoke during class."
"This isn't a cigarette. It's just a lollipop."
"Lollipops don't make any smoke."
"No, that's just 'cause it's so lollied."

yah and? find another excuse to take offense at perfectly decent humour, im fat and i found that joke hilarious, chill out and stop taking everything so seriously, its no wonder you're depressed if you cant even laugh at a stupid joke like that, chill out. Depression isnt hard, I've had depression and it's a case of slapping yourself (mentally) and moving on instead of letting everything drag you down. Just becasue someone tells you youre depressed doesnt mean you have to listen to them, prove the doctors wrong ffs, do you enjoy the attention of being able to say im a fat depressive? Are you really that selfish? Cos i thought you were more than that. It's all in your head, take that depression kick it in the nuts and tell it to fk off.
<- thanks rukie =)
